Dremel 100 Series

  Dremel 100 Series Reply Contact I finally got around to buying a Dremel and am anxious to try it out.  But I am not sure if the one I bought was a good choice, or if I need to buy a different model.  I just happened to think about getting one today when I was already at Walmart, and because I am impatient I went ahead and bought one instead of waiting and doing some research. The one I bought is called a Dremel 100 Series.  It only has one speed, and according to the manual that speed is 35,000 RPMs.  I have a feeling that is way too fast.  Can anyone confirm?  Also, can anyone recommend a good dremel (this would be for a 55 lb. dog) in case the one I have is not going to work?  Thanks.

Yeah, that's too fast, IMO. I don't like to do any faster than 12,000 RPMs on these dogs (65 and 75 pounds). I love dremeling... I need to start doing it more than everything other week, though, since they just keep getting too long! Nicole & Sammy

  Re: Dremel 100 Series Reply Contact  Between 5000 and 10000 is usually good. I like a bit faster for dogs who are used to the dremel, but not much. It gets hot too fast, if you go much faster. I have a little, $20 Dremel from Walmart that works great.
