Well....Today was a very good day :) As some of you guys know, I've been on the interview trail for the past few months for plastic surgery fellowship. I hope to be a pediatric craniofacial surgeon when It's all said and done. The way this works is you submit your application, programs decide to interview you, you interview , then you both submit lists ranking in order the places you visit. A computer figures out if and where you go. Match day is the day where you get one phonecall telling you where you are going. So as you can probably guess plastic surgey is uber uber competative. This year there were over 300 applicants (general surgery residents) for about 85 spots. About 200 people actually got interviews and today was the match. I was blessed enough to get OHSU! My top choice. I just got the phonecall a little bit ago so oregon here I come in 2009 when I'm done with my general surgery training. There are so few programs on the west coast so it's so crazy I actually got one woo hoo, especially the one I wanted! Just wanted to share with my buddies here that have been saying prayers for me :) Your positive thoughts worked!
