After fostering Marvin, a Treeing Walker Coonhound for close to a year and half, I can really appreciate and applaud this family. Be sure to read the write-up.

Dear Friends of Petraits,
People always tell me that their favorite Petraits e-mails are the ones that show the pets after they've been adopted. So, this e-mail is bound to have hound-lovers smiling from ear to ear. The Alfano Family of Chicago (Petraits attached) adopted their first dog - sweet little Oliver the Beagle - from the Animal Welfare League in Chicago Ridge three years ago.
Later in 2005, Mugsy the goofy Basset Hound caught the family's eye and they adopted him from Guardian Angel Basset Rescue.
Next came challenging Charley the Treeing Walker Coonhound. He was adopted from Dogs Deserve Life after being rescued from a rural Ohio high-kill pound.
Because their first two hounds were coach potatoes, the family went back to DDL to find Charley a running buddy ... but instead they came home with Piper, a gorgeous Black and Tan Coonhound who is more of a cuddler and snuggler than a runner.
And, last but certainly not least, they recently adopted adorable little Maya the Black and Tan Bloodhound puppy from Midwest Bloodhound Rescue.
Now with one hound for each member of the family, the house is full of dogs, and full of love. With all these hounds comes daily exercise sessions where everyone in the family participates. And, all three teenagers work hard with their folks to keep the house in order, and the dogs well cared for. They certainly are a model of a wonderful dog-loving family.
