First, congrats on the puppy, and welcome to another Chicago-an!
Liza_539:So is it possible to teach a dog not to go beyond a certain point in the yard or do you think she will be okay since my dog is well behaved (for the most part) in the yard?
Like Erica said, most puppies really follow the lead of the older dog. Since Bandit doesn't bark much, I'd bet that her example will rub off on your new pup. So I might wait and see what happens when she interacts with Bandit in the yard. Beyond that, you could teach the "Quiet" command, so that you could use it appropriately when she's in the yard (if she is a barker).
Liza_539:I am also looking for training classes but so far have found everything is in the evenings and I start work at 2pm. So I am still searching.
Keep looking, hopefully you'll find one! It's so incredibly vital for a puppy to be properly socialized, especially in the first few months. Beyond the training aspect of puppy classes, the socialization your pup gets is completely worth it. Also make sure to take your pup lots of places when you get her. She won't be able to touch public ground without her completed shots, but you can carry your pup in your arms everywhere. While we were waiting for Honor to complete her shots, I used to carry her EVERYWHERE...up and down the hallways, to the outdoor mall, to Petsmart, around the apartment complex, etc. All of this is good socialization opportunities for your pup, and it's nice bonding time as well.
Liza_539:So I know I will be here asking a lot of Q's and I plan to have it spayed( prob. will be girl I think

) early.
Please feel free to ask questions, there's a lot of knowledgeable people on the forums.
And by the way, Bandit reminds me a lot of my Honor, except much bigger! Very cute.
