    Re: In Memory- member babsT/Ovcharkagirl

I never have time for this part of the forum - I'm glad I happened to be here.  This is so tragic - and horrifying.  We had many conversations about those wonderful dogs, the Ovcharka, she had such a love for the loyal, gentle, giant dog breeds that we shared.

Prayers for peace and comfort for this family, order in the chaos, and meaning and direction from the senseless.

never forget to look out for the people you love and check on them...and listen if they need to talk or seem unhappy. You never know...

Folks, please take Gina's caution to heart -- we never know when that kind word ... that extra few minutes to listen or reach out ... can make a difference to someone.

Yeah, sometimes it gets us "involved" in something ... but sometimes it can really help.

I wish we were never touched by such things, but it IS part of the human condition.  Sometimes tragedy can't be averted.  Sometimes it can.  But gosh, Gina, thank you for letting us know that the dogs are being taken care of and that the kids are with family.

Oh my, how horribly awful. I remember seeing her dogs pictures before - such beautiful creatures they are.

I hope this all gets straightened out, and her 'husband' gets what he deserves. I just cannot believe some people sometimes.....

    RIP Barbara

I followed a few links from that article and saw some pictures of her.  She was so beautiful.  I cried reading that part of the article where the minister said to her children, "You will never be alone.  Mom is only a whisper away."  She shouldn't be AWAY AT ALL.  Dammit.

You know, it's really weird to see this.  I remember sitting at lunch with Jean Ellard, the Canine Mgr. at Quincy, a few years ago at the N.E. Fed conference.  We have a mutual friend who introduced us.  I'm amazed to think that I know someone, even remotely, who probably knew this woman, yet probably had no idea of the danger she was in, any more than we all did.  So sad for those kids.

    Re: In Memory- member babsT/Ovcharkagirl

She was a very good person indeed.   I knew her very well.  She trained with us many times and at one point was looking to get into a malinois to work.   It has taken me a long period of time before I could even accept what happened here.   I also knew John pretty well, in fact we used to go shooting at the club together.  Believe me, no one saw this coming except maybe Barbara but she never let on that there were any problems at home accept maybe he was somewhat possesive.  I really miss her.  Apparently he thought she maybe cheating on him but I know for a fact that all she cared about were her 2 boys, and 3 dogs.   John to me seemed to be a very nice guy, smart, seemed to have his act together.  He was actually a gun safety instructor.    I got emails from her a few times a week with pictures and videos of her children and her dogs.   I was at the cemetary yesterday.  I actually brought over a little chihuahua I had in for some training.   Barbara would have enjoyed this little dog.  It was very sad and I spent quite some time there in thought weeping.   That guy is a real ass hole for doing that.  He ruined the lives of those kids.  The breeder currently has her central asian, and ovcharka but I guess they saw the whole thing.   She did a nice job with those big animals.  Her female did the CGC last year and it was interesting but she did a good job with it.   This is really awfull.   This world is a crazy place at times.   Sincerly, - Dave
