  My staffy is Getting dark splotches on skin.... Reply Contact  I have a 7-8 y/o tan/red Staffy, we recently noticed under her fur, that her skin is getting dark in splotches... she doesn't smell any different, nor is she acting different. Further, she isn't scratching or biting at any of the areas, it just looks like some dark splotches on her skin. At first we thought that she might have gotten a little too much sun staying out on the porch one day, but her stomach area just got a little darker and it has me a little concerned. I can't figure out what it is, because there are no other symptoms....  no itching, no stomache ache, no smell....   any clues would be great, if it is just natural, that is fine with me...   -Tim

Reply Contact Often on the belly and less hairy areas you'll see something like miliary dermatitis (where the skin actually changes color b/c it absorbs color from contact with dirt etc.) that can happen especially if the skin is broken or has been broken. Honestly I'd tell you it was time to talk to your vet.  Particularly if you say there is no other changes.
