Went to the vet yesterday.  The area is drying up and healing nicely.  Drizzle is scheduled for hip x-rays tomorrow so since she will be under, my vet said she will also remove the gland at that time.  I also order ear and teeth cleaning and an x-rays of her lungs.  I sure hope the vet can do something about her wobbly hips.

    DPU:

I sure hope the vet can do something about her wobbly hips.

Have you explored hydrotherapy?  Indie was so emaciated and had so little muscle mass that all his joints were grinding on each other, even with slow paced walking.  Physical therapy with an underwater treadmill has worked wonders to build the mass he needs to support his joints and he is now literally leaping with all 4 paws off the ground now. (Not recommended or encouraged, but he seems to be feeling so great, he tosses his jolly ball in the air and then leaps after it completely leaving the ground.)   He's added 6 lbs of pure muscle in 12 weeks of therapy!  Big Smile

    Sending her positive outcome vibes!

Re: Drizzle, this does not look good.

Drizzle home!  Minus a mammory gland and minus two warts.  The vet is sending the gland to be biopsyed.  Hip xrays showed now problem and they are in very good shape.  Lung xrays showed no lesions.  The vet says its her spine and kind of explained it that the spine is sending misfires to the hip muscles causing the whobbling.  The vet says let Drizzle determine her activity level.  She is wobbly when walks slows but when she runs, all is normal.  The vet says to allow her run more or as much as she can.

Drizzle has a belly wrap and I put her on Ampicillin and Tramadol.  She is also on vitamin E and is also taking Cosequin.  All looks good and she is real happy to be home.

Glad she is home and hope the biopsy reveals nothing to be concerned about!

I'm glad the surgery went well and hope the biopsy doesn't show any cancer. It's a shame the vet couldn't help Drizzle's wobbling, but it's good to know her hips are okay.

I'm late seeing this thread about Drizzle - but am glad to hear she's home and the surgery is behind her.  Sending good vibes that the pathology report is okay.  Also sending a hug for Drizzle!!

Acupuncture can really help with nerve issues. Emma has a similar problem, and she's TONS better, with acupuncture treatments. Hope the biopsy comes back negative, and Drizzle heals fast.

Cosequin can be good stuff -- definite prayers and good thots for the biopsy.
