Wilted Flower [W] Thinking ahead to April SWAP

First off...is anyone interested in another SWAP for April?

I had been considering doing a swap for those that like to garden..and doing a seed swap...members could place their "region" in their profile or the swap thread along with if they prefer a flower or non flowering plant, indoor/outdoor etc.

Now I am thinking seeds because they can easily be sent in regular postal envelopes and shipping would be really easy/cheap.

The obvious downside is obviously some folks do not garden and they'd not be interested....but the time of year is really conducive to this swap and I really like the ease of shipping aspect.

    Thoughts?

Read through the post office restriction list to Canada and it didn't say anything about seeds or plants...so that's good.

Thank you ladies for the input!

I'm thinking it will be fun...when you grow em, you can think of the person who sent em to you whenever you see the plant! Smile

Just a FYI, you cannot send seeds in /out of the country. I just did a couple of swaps thru swap bot and it was made US only for that reason.

Maybe for those out of the country (since you can't send seeds) we could do spring planting related things (small pots, gardening gloves, etc.)?

I suppose that's fine although it bothers me that some folks will be spending .43 to ship seeds and others might be stuck with a lot more than that...*sigh* Thinking....

I don't participate just because of my location, but how about a spring photograph swap?  Most of us have cameras, right?  It doesn't need to be "professional" by any stretch of the imagination...just everyone takes a picture of something in their surrounding area that really says "spring" to them...whether it be the flowers starting to poke up at the park, or melting ice, or whatever...be as creative as possible.

Then just mail the photo...could have fun when the swap is over with a thread containing all the pics sent...in it.

Then again...I don't participate so that none of you have to pay crazy overseas shipping fees...so feel free to tell me it's a moronic idea.

Notice how she thinks we require permission for that....bah ha ha! *ducking*...

    Kate sit down....

I actually think that might be a GREAT idea....so we'll see what everyone else thinks...we could do both..."Spring Theme Swap" send whatever says Spring to you...seeds....pictures....pressed flower bookmarks.....gardening gloves..

I love this idea!!!  I have done photo swaps before and they are cool.

I vote for the spring photo swap!

Ha!  Thanks a lot, Gina! HMPH!

Glad you like the idea, though.  Happy swapping, everyone. :)

Re: Thinking ahead to April SWAP

I don't know how the swap bot thingy arranges who sends to who, but what if there are say 6 people in the USA and 4 in Canada in the swap.  Then what if the people in the usa swap seeds around, and the people in canada swap seeds, then we don't have to worry about cross border seeds stuff.

Or, we could always just hide the seeds lol and smuggle them across!
