    Wheaton's

Other than brush, brush, brush and pick, pick, pick,  are there any secrets, tips or handy hints to grooming and maintaining the groom of a Wheaton?

    Any specific combs, brushes....

    Thanks

Where do I find one of those?  I have never even heard of one.  I have scanned all of the hair care products in the larger pet stores.  Should I look in supply catalogs?  Is it called "Teflon coated greyhound comb"?

    Re: Wheaton's

I groom my nieces Wheaton.  I, myself, have two Yorkies, a Shih Tzu and a Pom.  I am having static probs too.  I have started using "Crazy Dog" grooming spray.  I states on the label it is formulated to help with static.  So far so good.  You might give it a try.  I have had several folks suggest dryer sheets, but I find they make the hair oily, and I don't like putting that kind of stuff on my dogs.

This spary is a detangler, but when I am just dealing with "fly aways", I spray it in my hand, rub my hands together and then work it in the coat.

I've seen the comb in PetEdge before, is that the one you are talking about, Jennie?  I'm kind of wary of their "exclusive" products, they seem kind of cheap, if you know what I mean.

Dog showsSmile. Petedge brand stuff is ick. I agree. I'm becoming such a dog show snob. I'm going to one, this weekend. I'll pick up a few cards, so I can give you websites of folks that have decent combs.

Woodpecker's is where I get most of my grooming supplies.  They are at most dog shows that I go to.  Here is their website...http://www.dogshowpro.com/asp/default.asp.  I have a grooming table from PetEdge, and I LOVE it.  It is one of their brands, and I've not had any problems.  The top is super easy to clean too.  I haven't used anything else from them though.

Ooh, that would be great!  I have a pair of nice Oster Combs, but I learned later that they are "finishing combs", so the teeth get bent easily.  Grrr.

Dog shows are so totally awesome!  I wanted sooooo bad to go to Burbank next month, to the Groom and Kennel Expo (mostly to watch grooming competitons).  Not an actual dog show, but equally as fun.  Great place to stock-up on tools, and attend seminars, etc.  Those funds are needed elsewhere at the moment, so I will have to wait 'till April, because I hope to go to the Australian Terrier club of America 50th anniversary specialty.<crosses fingers>

I bought some stuff from Woodpecker's, a few years back in CO.  Very good prices, IMO!

    Re: Wheaton's

Yeah, my greyhound comb lost a tooth, the other day, so I'll be comb shopping for myself (it's one that I ordered online probably... six months ago). I also need a new slicker brush, and I want some shampoo for Em.
