Meanwhile... the Sweet Dog with Distemper thread goes unanswered and this thread has received 20+ responses in that amount of time.

ALL I ask is for you to remember that I'm not the one doing the coding.

No one is blaming you, Kate.  Obviously the person who can fix the problems is not someone who uses the forum.  Wink

As for issues with not updating and PMs going missing, well, that's why my friends and I have MSN.Wink

Even if you don't MSN, you can always set up a private board for yourself & your friends.  I know that it's happened before.  *Personal, Please take to PM* Wink

Re: This New Forum Is A Downgrade.

I cant relate to many of the complaints written here. ALL i want to do is read and reply to posts,i dont bother with fluffy picture postings,or searching for stuff,(even though the search function is pretty poor),and all the other froo froo internet doohickey's.

And whats this talk of less traffic?? Surprise  This is the most populated board i am a member of.I cant keep up with all of the posts and different threads as it is.If this board has "less members and traffic" now then i would hate to see it at full throttle with even more members,it would be even more overwhelming than it is now!

Re: This New Forum Is A Downgrade.

There are some major issues with the forum. We all know it. Kate has been on top of things and letting us know what isn't working and what could be working better. Believe me, she is doing her best to get it corrected.

The previous software worked much better but we were looking to inhance the user experience with more options. Unfortuinately the person who brought in this format didn't spend any time with those of us who have used the forum in buliding. We hope to have the issue resolved but it might not be any time soon. Please hang on!

ya know, vbulletin has a lot of fun user features for a community - and is much more user friendly software...;)

Re: This New Forum Is A Downgrade.

But, I'm sure this software wasn't real cheap and I would imagine that any business would rather try to fix the bugs than have to toss a forum out and start over........ It matters to me to know that we are being heard, and even tho stuff isn't getting fixed YET, "they" at least are working on it, and trying to resolve the issues. Yes, the forum is slower than it used to be, but, some of that is likely due to natural attrition.

    I can anser that-yes

Since the original forum this is the second software we'vepurchased to make the forum a better place for our members. Unfortunately this last one might not have been the best thought out plan. It will get better, I promise!

Some day, when you have time Jaime, we can swap "poor business decision" stories.  :)

Re: This New Forum Is A Downgrade.

I can't be the only one with enough Scotts blood in me to try to fix something if I can! As I recall, there was some "stuff" going on at the time of the change, and perhaps someone had a little more power than was wise? I do know that I was modding at the time and knew nothing about a new format, didn't beta test it like some others got the chance, didn't even know it was happening. I had to call Jaime to see what was going on.....and she told me she'd have to kill me if she told me! LOL!
