Drinks [D] Best Holiday Appetizers ??

We went to a party last night and had some of the BEST "appetizer's " we have ever had.... My favorite was sliced (and perfectly cooked ) pork loin slices piled on a 1/2 inch thich cornbread stuffing base that was toasty in texture topped with cranberry hutney...OMG that was to good to believe and this was an awesome party with lamb chops, sushi  about 5 different cheese selections from carmalized brie to marinated gouda, of course the ever popular fruit plates and tarts, my all time favorite chocolate dipped strawberries......

So everyone fess up what is your favorite dish to serve and how do you cook it?? I will be entertaining a large crowd at our RV during the Jackson Ms Dog Show and hope to keep my reputation for excellent nibbles intact!!

I have to admit that because of my bad back, I've been relying heavily on Schwans, but they have a couple apptizers that I think are wonderful....a spinach, cheese and artichoke mini bread bowl, and a spinach and 5 cheese puff pastry.  With your talent in the kitchen, you could probably recreate them!

I love appetizers, and parties created around them!

If you're feeling lazy, Trader Joe's has these AMAZING mushroom turnovers. Super good, but fattening :-p

Between Schwans, Trader Joes and  Costco,  you should be able to come up with some super appetizers.

A few very easy and very good things to make.

The first is lovingly called BABY POO,,,because it looks like it!

Mix a small jar of pineapple preserve, and a small jar of apple jelly, ( about 20 oz jars ) and jar of pure horeseradish..and 1 teas dry mustard.  Mix together. Seperate into four servings and can be frozen at this point.    When ready to use,,,pour over one brick of cream cheese and serve with crackers.  Using those soft flakey buttery crackers are best.

    BAKED PIZZA DIP

1 8 OZ Tub cream cheese spread

    1 teas. Italian seasoning

Mix together and spread in bottom of 9 inch pie plate.

Top with Pizza Sauce and Mozz cheese

Bake 350 degrees for 15 to 20 min. or heated thru.

    Serve with wheat thins

WOW some awesome suggestions!!  The Baby poo is rather like a Jezabel sauce, which is served with pork items at buffets and dinners, you use a jar of apple jelly , a jar of apricot preserves and a heaping tablespoon of horseradish it really makes a so so pork plate stand up and spin !! Very popular at Southern Weddings!

This weekend I was at The Jackson Ms dog show and bought several jars of Tomato Marmalade to put over cream cheese blocks and serve with crackers, I wish it was a bit thicker but it sure is tasty!!  I also got jars of olives stuffed with garlic, pickled yellow squash (spicy!) Cherry Jalepenos yum everything was tasty.  But the blue ribbon went ot a friend's Creamed corn side dish made with whole kennels of corn , whipped cream and cream cheese  among other ingredients. Served in a crock pot it was outstanding!!
