    She's finally leaving that man!

Well, I called my mom yesterday and she sounded really upset so I asked her what was wrong and she broke into tears.  I immediately drive over to her house (actually her b/f's house).  I walk in and she tells me that she is leaving him and needs to find an apartment.  Well, she has been with this guy for 10 or 11 years and he treats her like pure trash.  He is constantly cheating on her and putting her down but she has dealt with it for many years so I wondered why she is finally deciding to leave.  Well, he crossed the line yesterday.  He tied her up and raped her.  I saw the lines on her wrists.  I told her she should go to the police but she said that she just wants to get out.  We found her a nice two bedroom, 1 1/2 bath apartment that allows pets.  She gets to move in on Friday.  I have been after her for years, telling her to leave him.  He expects my daughter to call him Paw-Paw.  He'll NEVER see my child again.  Just say some prayers for my mom.  She is pretty hurt and needs some spiritual help.  Thanks all for listening!

Geez. That is awful!  I can't imagine something like that happening to your (or anybody elses) mother.  It's too bad she won't press charges against that creep, but at least you got her into someplace safe.  That's the most important thing.  Now hopefully she won't let him talk her into going back to him, as sometimes happens.

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry that happened. Its so hard to watch someone be in an abusive relationship for years and they not do anything about it. Congratulations to your mom for having the courage to leave him, I'm just sorry that it took something as horrible as that to make it happen. Many encouraging thoughts being sent your direction...

Wow, how scary! I hope she is able to cut all ties from him.

I told her that her best bet is to tell him where he can go!  I hope she is smart enough to stay away from him.  He is a very hateful man.  He STAYS drunk and demands respect.  I have never liked him.  I told my mom before that Madison was not allowed to spend the night with her because I did not trust her bf.  I guess I did the right thing.

OMG!  I'm definitely sending your mom STRONG vibes.  Her first huge step will be to actually MOVE.  If she can do that, she's made a huge step.  I'm pulling so hard for her.  NO ONE deserves to be treated like her BF has treated her.  Please keep us up on how she's doing.

I am so sorry to hear what happened to your Mom, and thank God she is leaving him. Sending huge strong vibes and "freedom in your new life" vibes.

It's just a better life with dogs.

I TRIED to add that she needs a good support group but that seemed to have gotten lost somewhere.  Anyway, I'm so pulling for her.  She's in for a long hard road ahead but she can do it.

Re: She's finally leaving that man!

Thanks for everyone's support.  I don't know what to say to her.  I know that nothing will take the pain away except time but I wish I could do more for her.  I am going to help her move tomorrow.  I will be leaving Madison with my dad just in case that man is there.  She is leaving all of her furniture and stuff when she leaves, that way she can get out faster.  We will be looking for her some new furniture when we get her settled in.  I hate to say it but I don't think mom will stay single.  She seems to "need" a man.  She left my dad and moved right on to the next (he was a drunk, abusive, druggie) then when they split up, she moved right on to the one she has now.  It's pretty sad.  I refuse to let any man bully me around but mom just won't stand up for herself.

Bad relationships, or bad men I should say, are so difficult. I am sorry to hear that you're mom is going through a hard time but I am also happy to hear that she is putting her foot down and letting him know that she is worth more than what he is giving her. I lit a candle for her on this site. Just click here http://www.gratefulness.org/candles/message.cfm?l=eng&cid=4286887 and you can see it. I'll keep her in my thoughts.
