  getting older Reply Contact I need some input from anyone that wants to give it . My Lucky boy turned 14 yrs on April 10th he has been with the family since he was 6 weeks old but he's been having problems for the past 12 months with arthritis in his hind quarters he is on rimadyl @ glucosomin one or the other .does not look like it is working. he also has HD, heart mermer ,cataracts in both eyes pretty bad in one doc says he can't see out of it. he loves to eat ,has a hard time getting up ,only lays down or stands but when he stands its crooked and then his back legs start to give out even when he is eating, and also when he goes dodo .I can get him to walk a bit with coaching and jelly beans, but one back leg (nails drags ) everyother step.does dodo in the house at least 3 x day does not let me sleep he is up wondering around the house whining when i'm going to sleep eventually he  lays down and goes to sleep for 1 hr and then up again I get up with him to take him out but its to late he did dodo already . i havent had a full nights sleep in months i need to sleep .[sm=sleep34.gif]yes his tail still wags    help

  RE: getting older Reply Contact Is the question that his HD is causing him to do nervous movement? I would think so, but senior dogs can have other issues, too.   Ask you doctor for some Tremadol--at his age, the side effects won't matter. My boss's dog couldn't sit down for months before she died because of arthritis pain. Let's get everyone to sleep over there--get the Tremadol. Saving just one dog won't change the world . . . but surely the world will change for that one dog (unknown)
