Can you do this with YOUR dog?

I can't even imagine doing it with my two, never mind 16 or whatever this guy has.  This is just amazing to me, and it shows one reason so many other breeds have been used to make Northern, or Alaskan huskies.  And why people don't use purebred Sibes anymore.  Mushers just need so much more out of dogs now a days.

What a neat video....I've never seen that one before! I'd say that there is quite a bit of selection of the right dogs, along with some really good training......a teaspoon of good socialization, with the added benefit of a "pack" sticking together.

Not nearly as fabulous, but I a friend and I would routinely hike with seven dogs offleash...there's something you can visibly see when you have a group of dogs that run together...they tend to check in with each other all the time.

Wow!  That was fun to watch!  In my next life...I want to be one of his dogs.  Amazing connection between that guy and all the dogs!

That was awesome.  I think though it also says something about when a dogs needs are so thoroughly being met.  Really why would any of them want to run off when they have 16 of their closest friends to run with and a 'pack leader' who is going to take them to all sorts of fun places along the way.

Wow! That is really awesome! I can do that with one of my dogs- well, maybe two but neither one can keep up with the bike anymore.

I fancy one day doing some skoojoring with a dog or two. would be fun.

OOOOh!  If you ever get a chance to Skijor, do it!  It's a total blast!

I do wonder though, how much extra training went into this.  I mean, with the over commands and stuff.  Sled dogs are taught that in harness, and I'm sure that with a 16 dog team, they learn at least in part, due to the other team members already knowing the commands.  If 15 of your teamates move to the side, you're bound to go with them.  What I find amazing is that they do it off leash, out of harness, and with lots of distractions.  I also wonder what it would look like if he took just one of those dogs out on his bike.  Would the control still be there?  This video was totatally fascinating to me obviously...even though I had severe buffering issues...sigh.
