    Mindless Thursday

First, good thoughts going out to Bugsy - I believe his surgery is today.

Well, the holiday season is officially here since I bought my first Christmas present yesterday for Riley!  For those that remember I was trying to earn enough from my Mom 2 Mom sale in September to get her a kitchen.  Well, I didn't get enough to buy the Pottery Barn version, but got her this one instead from Amazon.  Still is perfect and to be honest the Pottery Barn version was completely over priced...the oven was almost as my as my real oven!!

It will be delivered on Monday and I am so excited!

    Thanks for the siggy Candace!!!

Wow, sorry Glenda but I'm kinda pleased since I live in the Philly area I'm really glad that the Yankees won.  It will shut up the Phillie fans who are intolerable, IMO.

So many vibes for Bugs & Karen.

    Re: Mindless Thursday

Agnes has a doppelganger.  I've seen the dog twice, from the distance of a half block or so, walking with a human.  I haven't gotten near enough to speak to the human, but makes me wonder if they are long lost relatives.

Last night was "do Agnes's nails" night.  I have a Dremel, which she is okay with, but when she got a little antsy, I broke out a regular emory board, which she promptly tried to steal from my hand and chew.  She looked for it for about 15 minutes after I put it away, like she's got a sandpaper fetish or something.  She really wanted it!  Now I have an idea how all her front teeth got worn down to the gums!

Sending vibes to the Bugster too! I went through this twice with Max, I hope he has as good results.

I am very tired today. Two late nights in a row kills me when I get up as early as I do.

Hope everyone has a good day.

    Re: Mindless Thursday

Thanks for the Bugsy  vibes all - much appreciated.  He is so funny, first there was this teeny little dog who he wanted to say hello to and we were given the OK.  It as approximately the size of his head.  He did very well and lowered himself but the little'un proceeded to try and bite his nose.  He jumped back like whoa no need mate I iz gentle.

Then the vet tech comes around to take him back and starts sweet talking him and he was giving her kisses and wagging furiously as she led him to the kennels.  Guessing he was a bit shocked when she incarcerated him. LOL

I should hear by noon how things went.

I am unabashedly happy about the Yankees.  It was a great series and I think that this 'team' was a real 'team' if you get my meaning.  Fun to watch and let's not forget that they finished the series with two subs in the outfield.

I have to figure out how to make a chicken wire containment area for B outside.  He is so apt to run that I want to remove that potential.

DH said the weather is awful in Manchester, no surprises there.  His sister is being a PIA but all else is running smoothly.  The funeral is tomorrow.

Karen I remember when Teddi was left for her surgery, the clinic was under construction. So they walked her away, and the surgeon walked us to the check out area. As Teddi walks away, her cute little tail a waggin, her hips a wiggling (she does wiggle when she walks) she shoots a look over her shoulder "you comin' mom?" Ok I lost it. That was my LITTLE BABY who just turned ONE going for major surgery. She was fine, her mother needed help.

    Good thoughts for Bugsy!

    I am swamped at work.

I have to go to the dr today to discuss changing bc.  Oh joy.  DH has decided that we just shouldn't use bc.  It's a good thing that I don't let DH make big decisions very often.

    Re: Mindless Thursday

I'll be thinking good thoughts for Bugsy today. It's so hard to walk away and leave them at the vets but I doubt they hate it as much as we do.

Sassy's appt is at 10:15 today and I wish I was the one taking her in. DH said he'd probably call me from there if they have questions. He's a smart guy but seems to misplace his brain when it comes to questions about her health. Fortunately, they have her health history on file, so it shouldn't be too difficult. They didn't even ask us to bring a urine sample, so I wonder if they'll draw it themselves. I guess we've been really lucky to never have had a dog with a UTI or that kind of issue before now.

I barely made a dent in the pile of work yesterday but I should be able to get fairly caught up by the end of today.

On the road again...this has been the story of my year.

Any ideas on how to cook up gizzards and heart for training treats for the dogs? I boiled lamb but it must have been bland because abbie was not all that excited about it.

Maybe fry them up in a little olive oil and garlic powder ???

    Re: Mindless Thursday

I have the dog competition bug... I want to get back into the ring. Meanwhile, things shut down here until one show in Jan, one or so in Feb, then none until April.  That's disgusting.  The one and only event in November is this weekend in Pueblo.  I can't convince my sister to drive 2 hours to watch it, tho.  Since all I want to do is check out the competition.  Grr.. I should go back to NH.

Best vibes to Bugsy and his mum & dad in their respective states (or should I say countries?  I meant mental state, but...)

Speaking of mental - my coworker (who looks over 50) just asked me how to spell "secret".  He had the dictionary out and everything....

    WhooHoooo!!!

Julie, we use heart all the time.  I usually baste it with olive oil & a little garlic powder, & bake it until it is jerky textured.

Paige, this isn't the coworker that you're asking to the Broncos game, is it?
