I am directing a race on Saturday. Last year, we had 113 total registered, and 100 who actually showed and ran. Right now, we have 92 people registered. We are only allowed 150 on the course. Given that last year, with impending rain, we doubled on race day, I expect we will sell out. I am totally shocked. There is another event in the same park (which we may have to send people over to if ours is sold out). There is also a big race, which we actually changed days to avoid last year, about 9 miles away. That race gets over 400 people, and is in a nicer location than the one I am doing. There's another one in that area also. I was also just contacted by the mascot coordinator for the Philadelphia Wings. The mascot is going to come out to the event. Hopefully he comes with some prizes or something. I don't know how the heck we did that well with all those other events we're up against. I actually didn't have the heavy advertising push through our timer that I could have had. I'm glad I didn't now actually, because we may have had way too many people in that case.
