    Re: mindless messed up Moanday

Here it is almost 7 p.m. and I'm just now getting to the computer.  I got thermal backed drapes for the bedroom a few months ago and I leave them open just enough for Max to get through his doggy door so being lighter outside in the morning doesn't bother me.  The afternoons are so warm that I'm starting to wonder if the clock rolled back four months instead of one hour.  The mornings and nights are pretty chilly and they say to enjoy it because colder weather is coming. I suppose I should take the bats down on the porch and pack them away before it's time to put up the Christmas stuff.

Ummm, Amanda?  Put it where the sun don't shine, please.

Unfortunately, I'm too whipped to enforce that request.....

I'm sure that this will come as a shock to you....that will not be the first time that I've been told to "put it in my hiney."  Zip it!

Really, now, Amanda. How did I know you would go there!? Deb's not even around.

That did come out, well, kinda wrong!

Schatzi is on her way.  She's in full blown bitch mode tonight, so don't expect Pirate or Tiki to like her.  At any rate, Shooter, Angel, Chyna, & Lola thank you for taking her.  (They have all drawn her ire today.)

I've taken a firearms safety course, as well as a controlled handgun course.  I enjoyed them, but I have an unusual fascination with guns.

Glenda, you are one of the few people that I know who would say "please" when telling me to shove it!

Ah, I've worked in sales for too danged long.  Courtesty counts there.  It's amazing what you can get away with if you do it politely and with a smile!

Did I tell y'all bout the goose egg I got on Saturday night?  And for true, it was BEFORE I was drinking!  We had to stop to pick something up at friends place before heading out to the costume party we were attending, and my friend's DH parked beside a big ol puddle.  So when I went to get back in the truck, I was only worried about not steppin in the puddle.  This lead me to overestimate the height of the truck and I cracked my skull on the metal latch thing that the doors hook into when they are closed.  I nearly cried!  I would have, but dumba$$ in the front seat was laughing at me so hard, I felt the need to beat him over the head with my foam hand...It was almost my best moment of the night.  The rest came after the drinks...hehe.

LOL, me and Schatzi can have our own club then. I have chocolate, remember? :)

I have the opposite problem, Amanda. I am just a little bit scared of guns. I'm all well and dandy with other people owning them. I'm fine with them in other people's houses. BF's dad has like, ninety bafrillion guns, and we used to spend weekends there all the time. Apparently I am going to have to get used to it, since my BF is a (almost) cop.

Speaking of mindless, I kept hearing this weird noise on my way home from class tonight. I was shooting the poop with sis on the phone so I was kind of ignoring it, but when I was getting off at my exit I looked in my rearview and saw that MY TRUNK WAS OPEN. I somehow drove the 25 or so miles home from school, on a highway, with my trunk open. I'm surprised I didn't lose anything, but all my junk was still back there.

I took my hunter's safety course and my firearms safety course.  They aren't so scary once you understand how they work, and how to handle them properly.  If you take it, the number one rule is NEVER EVER POINT IT AT ANYONE!  You will FAIL immediatly if you do.  And the instructors here will try and put themselves in the play you are most likely to point it when you first pick it up.  The tricksters.  I passed, but probably only cause the guy before me failed that.

I am remarkably irritable tonight and turned down an invite for drinks because of it.  Sadly, Gracie is proportionately annoying... so I asked her to show me what she wants, and she brought me to the treat bucket.  All night I've been "entertaining" her more than I care to, so I got pissy and pulled back the throw rug in the kitchen, dropped the treats underneath the rug, flopped the rug back down and walked away.  I may come to regret this...

Edit - that didn't last long.  I am now throwing Charlie Bears like crumbs to the birds, to keep her out of my face.  She's actually enjoying this.  I am a bad dog mommy.

I would definitely agree with this.

I think that a gun safety course would probably help you be more confident around guns.  I know that I feel better when I know how to handle something properly.

My dad is a retired Army sharpshooter, so I, literally, got my first gun when I was 3, & I've been shooting ever since.  I've been around guns all my life, & handling them is like second nature to me.

Paige, take the bag of treats & throw them all over the yard.  She can search them out.  That should occupy her for a few minutes....

    Re: mindless messed up Moanday

Good thing it's only Charlie Bears, since they're only 2-3 calories a piece.  I got enough peace for a few minutes with that game, while Patrick chewed the rawhide that Gracie rejected earlier.  Patrick and Henry decided the "raining Charlie Bears" were pretty cool, so they joined, too, leaving the gooey chewed rawhide for Gracie to "rediscover".  She's prancing around with it now, giving Patrick the finger over it, bringing it over for me to hold for her, flopping on the floor with it again, back to giving Patrick the finger...  Hmm

Meg, I've been around guns all my life.  My Dad taught all of us kids how to safely handle firearms.  And once you know how to handle a gun, your BF will think twice before he ignores the unfolded laundry. Wink
