    Polyurethane on Coat

Okay, so I was polyurthaning some shelves for the house.  It was drizzly today, so I did them in the shed and left the door open so they could dry.

Welllll....... Kya decided to crawl under them.  She looked fine afterward, so I thought that it was okay.

I just checked on her where she was sleeping and ***SIGH*** she's got patches along her back.  I've washed her about a dozen times with dog shampoo and some dish detergent and combed it out.  I think I have most of it.

I was wondering if there is anything else I can use for when she decides to get into something gross, sticky, or shiny?

You did the right thing.  The solvents that would help dissolve polyurethane are toxic to dogs, even if inhaled.  Some sticky things, such as gum, can be loosened with peanut butter;-)

    Re: Polyurethane on Coat

Thank you.  Her coat looks much better today.  Putting a ton of doggie conditioner on her seemed to help as well.

I'm sure she'd LOVE peanut butter on her coat, :-D.  I won't tell her, or she'll go roll in gum on purpose.
