    Mindless Tuesday

Arghh!  Back to reality, back from Mexico.  Had a great time and will post pictures later today.  I am working from home today to get some stuff done - like 2 suitcases of laundry.  Off to go catch up on what's going on around here!

    Everyone have a good day!

    OMG

    OMG

    OMG

I have BIG, BIG news !!!  This news is so big it has the potential to change your life for good !!!!!  Many of you, after reading this post, will get down on your knees and praise the day I was born.

So anyway  . . . . a new watering hole opened in the town next to ours and in Mr. W's and my never ending quests to quench our parched throats, we decided to go check it out on Sunday.  No sooner do we sit our plump butts down at the bar when Mr. W becomes engrossed in the Cowboys game, so to pass the time I start chatting with the lovely barkeep (who looked amazingly like Julia Stiles, but I digress).

While we were shooting the breeze, I noticed something on the bar shelves behind her.  Not sure what I was seeing, I asked her to bring it to me.  What I saw brought tears to my eyes.  . . . . . .

     I hit the jackpot.

    I found the mother lode.

    I reached nirvana.

I know that I can now drink the koolaid and go very, very happily to my grave, and yet still, I feel a renewed purpose to my life.

So, without further ado . . . . . . let me introduce you to my new BFF:

ROFL!!!  Deb, I was wondering where you were yesterday.  Now it's all clear, relatively speaking.

     Ew! Blech. You're fired! :)

I'm hungry this morning. I would really like a nice freshly made toasted bagel. Hmm.. I wonder if I can make this happen. Probably not since I was out yesterday. I probably shouldn't run off to the corner store. But, if I brought back a dozen bagels then people would praise me..hmmm..

Unfortunately this is where I was yesterday:

Please be aware, over the last few years my Office has been working with training consultants to deliver training programs to supervisors and managers that provides them with the essential knowledge and skills in creating a respectful workplace. The program also explains to supervisors their role when having to respond to allegations of inappropriate conduct and how to establish effective interaction with staff in the work environment. The programs that have been offered reviews the law as they relate to what is and what is not appropriate for the workplace.

Please be advised that the                       has a legal obligation to ensure that every supervisor and manager have received training in the area of harassment and discrimination. To that end, my Office has been working in partnership with NewPoint Strategies, a training consulting firm who has recently launch a special  training program for managers/supervisors entitled " the Role of the Supervisor in Building Respect in a Diverse Workplace. "

I was bored out of my mind.

The problem with vacations is that they end and then getting dumped back into the real world sucks big time.

So why is it that I can say sucks but I can't, when referring to dog ear say (slang for penis)??  Hmmmmmmm.

The rain has started.  Woke up to it and it's supposed to continue all day and into the nght.  We're expecting a couple inches but of course "locally heavier rains are possible".  Yippee!  I have to go into the station later today and do voicetracks but, today sounds like a darned good kitchen day to me.  Bread baking sounds appealing.

Deb, my liver says "Thank you."

I hate those kinds of training programs.  They are always boring.  They last too long.  Did I mention that they were boring???

The office gossip just left my office.  I am her direct report, so I do actually have to deal with her on a professional basis, but I try to avoid her otherwise.  This morning's visit was not a professional one.  She came in to whine about how she doesn't understand why other people in the office don't like her.  She asked me if I knew why she was treated like an outcast. Zip it!

I wasn't sure how to gently tell her that people avoid her because she is a gossip, so I just bluntly told her.  We also discussed how she has notorious for throwing other people under the bus to cover how own ass, & how, if she wasn't such a good worker, I would have fired her a long time ago.  She seems to have taken my "pearls of wisdom" pretty well.

My secretary overheard (eavesdropped) the entire conversation.  She says that she is amazed by how kind & gentle I was.  What can I say?  I am nothing if not "kind & gentle."

    Re: Mindless Tuesday

    You ladies, are a riot.

Chocolate Vodka? I might have to invest in some of that.

I am going to bring home a new member of the family tonight. This one is just for me, the husband is not alowed to feed it, take it anywhere or talk to it in anyway shape or form. It is for me and me alone. I have saved for weeks now so that I could afford it and the time has come.

Here is a picture, please contain yourselves ladies!

chocolate vodka and now sewing machines. I'm in the wrong thread today! Vodka should taste like vodka people (unless it's raspberry vodka, then it's ok) and sewing machines! *sigh* there are "people" for that!

    Re: Mindless Tuesday

Dawn, I need your address. lol I have many projects for you that require sewing  **shudders** and I am so not into sewing.  I failed the sewing portion of Home Economics.  For you youngun's that's a class us young girls took in high school to learn to cook and sew.  It took me many tries to make a pillow case that would even qualify for a grade of any kind.  *hangs head in shame*  I come from a family of creative little seamstresses but that gene didn't make it to me. lol  When DH needs a button sewed on, I show him the needle and thread and leave him alone.

The rain is over for a few days and the sun is shining!  I cancelled Rex's vet app't yesterday, so we go in later today.  I'm having lunch with a friend at a great Italian place.
