Nikon photo dump (portraits and working pics)

Time for a photodump of the Noodle!  He got his SG rating last week (highest rating for his age, replaces his three VP ratings), got his CGC on Saturday, and starting working in the blind for the first time yesterday.

These are my portraits from yesterday

Working pics (in reverse chronological order)..

Going in for the first time and....I stop him short, gah!

Hey Ron, you got a little somethin' stuck on your arm there

Woohoo, this time I got it!  Line is loose, dog is barking and not getting "dirty" on the helper

    Some agitation/civil work

    One way to "disarm" someone...

Looks like he really *hates* this work

Nikon is magnificent and so very impressive, both in looks and work. You got a wonderful boy, Liesje.

He is so beautiful, and I love the intensity, even at heel.

Where did you get your fabulous harness, and how happy are you with it?

The harness is Bridgeport Equipment.  Very happy with it.  In fact, most SchH people I know use the same exact one.  Several people have used theirs for 10 years.  We don't really use the harness much anymore, but it cues him up for bitework so I still put it on, and sometimes our helper does a lot of civil/defense work right in his face so I have to hold the handle.

It looks great for helping a silly girl that can't hop in the car, or wearing when they want to slip through a door. I keep eyeballing the handled harnesses.

ETA: I realized, when I went to the website (again, I think I've admired his harness, before) why I don't have one. My dogs are too small!

LOL, yes they are pretty big.  Nikon got a Large when he was 4 months and I added some holes in the leather, it was still loose (but for protection it doesn't matter since they are lunging into it).  He is still on some of the tightest buckle settings and he is now 14 months, probably 75lbs and full height.

What about a little Ruffwear?  They have a second belly strap and a handle, designed for lifting I believe.

PS.  I just thought of this, seeing you post in a SchH thread: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTN5kTkdvME

I have one, but it covers so much of her body, that it's too hot to wear in the summer. She's become quite heat sensitive, in the last year.

Wow. Honestly I'm not usually a huge fan of shepherds (okay, I'm a huge fan of all dogs... but they are lower on my list of favorite breeds - just my taste!) BUT Nikon is absolutely stunning. The portraits at the top are amazing! Awesome working shots too :)
