That means should anything come out that cleared or even cast doubt on the outcome...after a person is put to death...the folks responsible are murderers themselves, no?? Death is forever...FOREVER. I think I can find it, in my human self to give them a few chances to be sure. Esp considering the case going on here in Tx where a man was put to death for arson/burning his two daughters in their home and maybe now the methods used to prove arson were faulty...and maybe now he didn't do it...and maybe now the Gov. is trying to cover it up. I am a mother. I do not know that I agree with casting such a wide net because well, monsters out there will only become more secretive, and more likely TO KILL their victims, instead of just abuse them, and destroy bodies to avoid detection...leaving families with no closure, and even less hope of getting their kids back...I will reserve judgement for now. IMO if it can be proven beyond reasonable doubt, i.e. DNA, they do not deserve to live and take up space on this planet. Why put them in jail and we, the tax payers have to pay for them to be alive?? I don't think chemical castration is effective enough, as another poster pointed out, they find other ways/weapons to take out their rage against others. As far as a sex offender commune..... locally they are trying to do the same for homeless people and the community does not want any part of it. No one wants to live near these people for various reasons. Imagine if they were all sex offenders.......... I just don't see it happening, unless, of course, we're talking about Siberia........   Re: Sex Offenders Should Spend Life in Prison/Receive Death Penalty Reply Contact I am for the death penalty, but for cases that there is 100% proof, ie, Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka, there is video evidence.  Though Karla got released from the deal she made. One thing I don't agree with, is the prison system, they sit in their little cells all day while tax payers pay for them to eat etc., i think there should be hard labour camps for prisons, really make them work!

Good point, Denise.  I think part of the reason so many of  these bozos get out sooner than they should is because of overcrowded prisons ... overcrowded because they're full of drug addicts who should  be in rehab instead of prison. If they'd just start treating drug addiction as a disease instead of a crime and saving prison for violent offenders I think the whole system would improve, but don't get me started on that issue. CA keeps building prisons and they're full before the mortar is dry. Joyce

Sick people like that need to never be out of jail. I knew John Couey's Sister and her daughter's one of her daughter's was a close friend of mine and she told me about her uncle but he didn't live in the state of Florida when she talked about him. Thanks god few weeks ago he died in prison but it's to bad he didn't suffer the way he made that little girl suffer. I watch Nancy Grace and seeing all these missing kids are sad what's bad is once these sick people do what they do, they get little jail time the first time and then repeat and get more jail time it seems like if they kill the child then the courts do something.  It should be the first time you offend a child thats it. You stay in prison until you die. Really no point in the death penalty I mean you sit there by urself in a cell for 20yrs I mean put those sex offenders in general population its where they belong general population will take care of them.  Only time I think death penalty should be used is when you know 100% it was that person.

  Re: Sex Offenders Should Spend Life in Prison/Receive Death Penalty Reply Contact I have a friend who was raped.... she was a student in a nursing home and the bum worked with her...waited for her in a store room.  He pulled her right out of there and took her to where he lived. Luckily he didn't kill her too.  He had already been in jail before for rape.... this is our system. He was let go, and I don't remember why if I heard that to begin with.  They went to court. He won...she lost--passed right out on the floor cold when they gave the verdict.  Funny...the past history wasn't allowed to be brought up.....but yet when it was over with..the lawyer talked to the jurors and told them what THEY did....and that it was the second time he did this.    This is our wonderful system protecting the innocent.........and the guilty also.
