    Mindless Chatter - TGIF

I am no where near awake this morning. Bring on the coffee.

Last night went really well at SAR training. I passed my field support test - yay! Now i get a T-shirt and hat ;p The important part is that I can go out on finds now and be support for a dog handler. They tested Neiko for his prey drive, which of course he has a lot of. He found the "victims" by eye sight which is fine at this stage. I'm just worried about when he needs to use his nose. We'll see. I still think that Lily and Abbie would be best at this but Lily, well - she shuts down under stress and Abbie has some personality issues to work on first.

This day is going to be LONG!

    Yay Friday!

Tonight Derek and I are going to order pizza and rent a funny movie.  Tomorrow I go to try on wedding dresses.  oooh boy.

And today I get to work on our new international child abduction case.  This will be interesting!

Good job passing your test, Julie!

    lmichelle, good luck tomorrow!

It's raining here and promises to all day.  Agnes's walk was very short because I don't do rain.  She'd already peed her bed during the night then peed on the floor before we got outside, so what was the point?

Amanda, I hope your DH makes it through the funeral.  It's going to be hard for everyone, I'm sure.

Cathy, what's the countdown to Maui now - 4 days?

I officially have the wimpiest dog of all time.  There was some kind of critter in the back yard that Jamison was aroooing his fool head off at this morning.  When I went out to see what all the noise was about  . . . . .he was tiptoeing around with a "make it go away Mama" look on his face.  He was scared sh*tless !!!!  I mean beagles ARE supposed to be hunting dogs aren't they ????  Sheesh  . . . .

Tina, I'm not much of a walk in the rain kinda girl either.

    Lauren, HAVE FUN!!!

Jamison, I may have to send Shooter to your mom, so that he can teach you how to hunt!  Silly boy!

I had to come into the office for a few hours this morning.  I have some loose ends that I need to tie up before I can leave for the weekend.

We are taking the boys to a haunted house tonight.  They have been begging to go, so we're going to give it a try.  I warned them that if they peed themselves, cried, or had nightmares afterwards, that I was going to beat them senseless.  I'm not sure that I was very convincing....

lol Amanda!!  I want to go SOOO BAD to canada's wonderland, the amusement park here, because they have the "Halloween Haunt" where there is (according to the radio) over 500 "cast members" dressed as ghouls and things that chase you around the park, and it's all dark, all the rides and everything, no lights lol  And there are a bunch of haunted houses and such    http://haunt.canadaswonderland.com/

But there are a couple problems, Derek doesn't want to go, he doesn't like horror and scary movies and things, if I go with my friend, she can't because she's pregnant lol.  So i could always go with my pregnant friend's husband lol.

Sadie does the same thing....all this arrooing, then when she finally comes face to face with a critter she either looks scared and stares at me for help or she dances around in front of it like an idiot.

I am going to the city for the weekend to see one of my best friends and so FH can go to some ski judging seminar thing to upgrade his judge's license. He informed me that he was having a small cocktail party at his place on Saturday night and just because I like vodka so much he is going to make it a martini themed one!

Lauren, have fun trying on the wedding dresses!

    Re: Mindless Chatter - TGIF

It is an absolutely gorgeous day here today!  Crisp and clear.  This is the first day this week, I've been able to work from home.  I had my new boss and team in Monday through Thursday...and sitting in meetings most every day.  It was really nice having her here, hopefully she will come more often.

However, there is this woman who sits across from me (we are in a cubicle environment) who has the loudest voice ever.  And, she is on more personal calls than anyone I have ever known.  Doesn't it just figure that when my new boss is trying to take a conference call from her desk; the loudy takes a personal call.  My boss....says:   Shhhh, in hopes that she would quieten down.  Good grief.  I had to go ask Loudy to pipe down....I absolutely hate doing that.

So, point is....new boss may not want to come to Houston to work much if she has to deal with Loudmouth in the vicinity.

Oh, and also....I've learned that one of my team-mates who visited this week has the flu.  And, her doctor says it is likely H1N1.  Great.  Oh, yeah...I was in close proximity of her for 2 days.  Needless to say, I'm loading up with VC and Ecchinecea; DH and mom too!   We need stay away bug vibes from all please.  Indifferent

Yesterday evening....The houligans were full of mustard.  Because I had to get up and leave for the office before the rooster crows; and didn't get home until late most days.....they didn't get their usual dose of exercise.  Yep, thats what happens....lack of exercise makes my dogs Crazay Dogs.  This morning, though....I tired them out with chuckit, flirt pole and a nice long walk.  They are playing outside now in this great weather....lovin every minute of it.

    Re: Mindless Chatter - TGIF

TGIF! I've started work at 7:00 AM all this week, and it's drained the life out of me. Can't wait to sleep tonight.

Also, I found a flea on Cricket today. All three of my dogs had their Advantix done a couple of weeks ago, but I didn't do Cricket's because she'd just had a bath, and then forgot to dose her two days later. She got spayed last week, and I can't apply it again until next week. What the eff do I do!?!

I have a sneaky suspicion that my next door neighbor has a nasty flea infestation, because their dog has not fur on his tail or rump. They are super-nice people, but have no money and I know that's why their dog isn't treated. How can I politely bring them a year's supply of Frontline plus for their dog and cat? I mean that seriously. What do I do? I feel like it's crucial that we get their flea situation under control.

I don't worry about being polite. lol  When my one neighbor was feeding all the stray cats in the neighborhood and had a dog covered in fleas, I just went next door with the Frontline and also offered to spray their yard with beneficial nematodes.  It's the only way I could keep the fleas out of my yard.  I told them that I got the Frontline free from my Vet to avoid making anyone feel uncomfortable.  They can't affort pets but that never stops them from getting them. :(

Jamison, pack your bags and come to Texas.  Don't forget your lingerie.  You shouldn't be expected to be a hunter, after all it's enough that you keep the couch from running off. Sheesh.

Is it really too much to want him to act like a dog now and then ??  And don't worry Jackie - he never travels without his best lingerie !!!!

Cathy, what's the countdown to Maui now - 4 days?

Since we leave Monday, I don't count that, so only 3 more days and only 1 more day of work - yay! It's been a super busy week and today will be more of the same, so I just want to get thru it without losing my job. I have a ton of stuff to do at home this weekend too. By the time we get on that plane Monday morning, I'll be ready for a strong Bloody Mary.

I had a dental cleaning this morning and they usually don't bother me, but I have one area on a back molar that is super sensitive to scaling. I honestly thought I'd start crying when she was working on it. Fortunately, she's super nice and understanding and even commended me on being such a trooper :)

I was dead tired last night and falling asleep on the couch at 8:30. I went to bed at 9 and slept soundly until 6 AM and feel much better today.

Yuk, dental scaling.  I have a couple of sensitive areas in the gumline around a couple of crowns I have.  I floss nightly, though should probably use the Water Pik more and it would likely help.  I just hate how messy the Water Pik is.  I do hate when the hygienist scrapes those areas.

I had an onion/pepper/cheese omelette last night for dinner and am still paying for it.  I don't eat eggs much because they don't agree with me, but the fridge is kind of empty and it was quick.  Next time I'll go for the cereal.
