Another spin off- treats and cookies

What are your favorite brands of treats and cookies?

A huge favorite here with the dogs is the refrigerated treats "The Loved Dog" which are either chicken/oat or beef/oat.

Next we use the ones by natura, Mother Nature or something like that.

And also PetGuard's Mr. Barky's and Mr. Pugsly's.

And pig skin twists are a big favorite here.

     What about your woofers?

Dahlia LOVES those "Loved dog" treats.  We call them sausages and she gets so excited for them.

    Besides those:

Duck/sweet potato or chicken/sweet potato treats

    Chicken chips

Pet Botanics rolled meat cut up into smaller pieces (we use these for training)

I bake a homemade salmon fudge that my dogs would do back flips for.

I also really like the Zukes Mini Naturals because of their size and convenience.

I will use freeze-dried liver bits occasionally...I just cannot use too much at one time.

Cheese is another fave, as are the rare dried hotdog slice (the only really unhealthy treat they get).

Mine get a ton of different treats during training.  The only ones they don't have to work for are Old Mother Hubbard peanut butter biscuits - they get those when I leave for work in the morning.

Current training treats: Fromm's Surf and Turf and Salmon ala Veg dog foods, Premier's Liver Biscotti, Wellness Wellbites in salmon, Cloudstar Soft and Chewy Buddy Biscuits in Beef, and Ziwi Peak cat treats in venison or lamb.

I occasionally will make tuna brownies, but that's infrequent, so most of my treats are storebought.

Edible chewies include Wholesome Hide rawhide, Zukes Z-Ridge Bones, Merrick tendon chews, and I just bought some hardened sweet potato rings for chewies that will be saved for the dogs' christmas stockings. [:) ]

Being a Lab, if it's edible, Caleb loves it!  LOL  But, I buy the Natural Balance treats.  For training I use homemade pumpkin/oatmeal treats.    Now those, Caleb will turn himself inside out for.  I also keep some NB sample sized rolled food on hand.

    All the Angels were busy
so they sent me Caleb instead.

    • Natural Balance food roll
    • Zuke's Minis (cut in half)
    • cat kibble
    • Overcooked venison (so it's dried out more like jerky)
    • Captain Crunch (I use this for tracking when I need to see the track)

My dogs have a bunch of different cookies....usually whenever we make a trip to Petco/Petsmart or Maggie's Dog House (next town over) or the groomer we pick up some goodies for the 'kids', lol. Currently, we have Canidae Snap Biscuits, Wellness Bars, Milk Bones (my Grandma game me a big box for her great grand-dogs, lol), and Old Mother Hubbard. We have a HUGE glass cookie jar that will literally fit 2-4 boxes of cookies- and I like to keep it stocked.

A few favorites are puppy milk bones-has to be puppy, LOL, PetsLife freeze dried cheddar, those oreo looking cookies from Petco, Gerber baby meat sticks, vanilla yogurt and Trader Joe's biscuits that are shaped like squirrels and couches, etc.

Can you guys give me the recipe for the tuna and salmon brownies??  I think she'd like those too--she loves fish of all kinds.

I found a great recipe for oatmeal/peanut butter/and blueberry cookies to bake for my dogs. They love them, and they are SO soft and chewy!  I do add some flax seed oil to them as well, seems to help their allergies and coats.  I've been getting a bit more into baking for my dogs, so if you guys have any good recipes...send them my way!

I've gotten a couple of bags of the grain free Northern Biscuits, lately. Emma LOVES them, and they're available in flavors (like pork and potato, YUM!) that she can have.

I do a lot of treat shopping at Best Bully Sticks. They have the trachea chips that the girls love, and those Great White chews (shark spine, YUM!).

Re: Another spin off- treats and cookies

We use a lot of Wellness Jerky.  We break them into tiny bits for training treats, or for "just because" treats.  I use one treat to feed all of the dogs, & the cat.

We also use lots of Free Range Dog Chews, treats.  Jacpots usually consist of Baa Trail Mix or Rabbit & Sweet Potato Nuggents.

They also love Wildside Salmon treats.  Smell wise, they aren't too bad, but they are freeze dried & not spit-able.

I've got a bag of VitaLife Duck/Potato chews that he LOVES - these he gets after the horrible nail trims or a bath.

Training we use cheese or cat kibble. Or some other jerky type treat if I happen to have it lying around (I'll buy it for fosters if it's on sale)
