I don't think I would share food with my dogs, like licking an ice cream together.  They lick parts of their bodies that I don't want to share.

This is a very big part of why the dogs don't get to lick us in the face or clean our plates/silverware.

It's really common to hear us saying "Brutus, stop licking your who who."  "Shooter, leave that alone." or "Bevo, if you don't stop licking that, it's going to fall off."

Hey, Amanda, sounds like you're all ready for "the talk" with your boys! Both human and canine! Stick out tongue

In general, I figure any "grodies" Rascal might have in his mouth will be taken care of by the dishwasher. But for me personally, the thought of sharing something like an ice cream cone with a dog makes my stomach turn! 99% of the time I wash my hands thoroughly after Rascal has licked them at all, and most of the time I wash or at least rinse them after petting him or handling his dog food (yes, I was my hands a *lot*!).

Nope.  If I share something that's on a fork with Max I slide it off the fork onto a paper plate or a magazine or newspaper.  I do let him lick the plate if he wants, but only if I'm sure I'm finished with it. He does a very good job with that.  No plate that he licks ever has to be rinsed before it goes in the dishwasher.

Nope, Ari doesn't lick the plates or utensils. Not that I find it gross, but Ari would likely then have a hard time differentiating when it's OK to lick said items and when it is not. So, to keep it simple, she's not allowed to touch human plates and utensils at all. Ari's oppertunistic and likes to push her limits on a daily basis lol, and that's one area I want to keep her away from.
