That Aspen has been here for almost a month already, and he`s finally ready to start meeting some adoptive families!! He`s come a long way from where he was when I took him home, he`s learned what it`s like to live in a house and learn some new skills. He`s still got some growing up to do, but that`s something that just comes with time and continued training and management.
Once again, I`ve learned so much from him, from how to teach a dog what a ``house`` is, down to how to deal with the frustrations of an impatient Pittie mix. LOL!!! He`s pressed a few of my buttons for sure, although it`s usually after a long day at work and I just don`t have to energy to run him again, and I just want to relax and he thinks that we should be doing other things. *sigh* But he`s a good boy and he`ll make a great family member in his forever home (I say this as he chews on his blanket in his ex-pen...haha). I`ve fallen in love with him, but I am also honest enough to note that he would not make a good permanent fit for my home, due to the current dog dynamic, so I don`t have that worry of falling too much in love with him.
I will be putting every effort forth to help find him the right home for his exercise and stimulation needs.
I`m glad to have had the opportunity to work with him. He`ll stay here until either an opening at the shelter comes up for him to go back (not my choice, but it`s hard to adopt fosters out here from foster homes) or he finds a home from here. We`ll see which one comes first. Congrats Aspen boy, we have done what we set out to do one month ago, and so much more!!!
