    Re: Mindless chat TGIF

Ann - I love your new signature with the pics of Maxine.

Tina - Happy Birthday to your son and congrats on letting him make it to the age of 21. I'm sure there were times you were tested. :)

No snow here but it is foggy. After the storm the other day, it was super muggy yesterday. I guess fog was to be expected but I really hate driving in it.

We're going out to dinner tomorrow night to celeberate MIL's 70th BD. We've never been to this restaurant but I looked it up online and it's gotten rave reviews for it's steaks. I haven't been out for a steak dinner in ages, so I'm looking forward to it.

Meeting DH at home for a nooner.  He hasn't made it here yet.  He needs to hurry up!  That is all.

Ann, your signature of Max is just beautiful, this is the first I've seen it.

    Maxs Mom:
I had a pumpkin muffin from Einsteins this AM with my cafe mocha
Pumpkin reminds me, I haven't had a pumpkin spiced mocha from Starbucks yet.  I get one of those to bring in fall, and I get a peppermint mocha to bring in winter. Smile

I spent last night teaching my rabbit Dublin some agility moves, and made the cutest video of it!  She's really smart, and loves the clicker.  It's so fun to work with her, because she's very eager to try new things.  She learned to do a tunnel, two jumps, and to table by the end of the session!

tapping foot, waiting to see video......

nice weather here today, a little windy but cooler and the most beautiful blue sky.  Back to work, I'm swamped with invoices to price out and get in the mail.  We started a new guy today.  I hope he works out.

CONGRATS!  That's a big deal!  My BFF took time off of work to study, months in advance, and still didn't pass the NH bar the first time (second time was a charm.)  Other friend was with us in Louisiana in Sept/Oct of '05 while we were helping during Katrina/Rita.  He got the news that he didn't pass his first time, either, and it was really hard emotionally, compounded by the extreme environment we were in.  But he looked around at those who had much more dire situations as we evacuated people from Rita, and just dealt with it.  Those experiences, and watching how much my BFF studied gives me a deep appreciation for those who pass the bar, whatever state it's in.  Hope your friend has a HUGE celebration ....while she still has money, before the student loans bills start coming in. ;D

Congrats to her!! My nephew passed the CA bar last year and was really sweating it while waiting for the results. His computer crashed on him during the test, so we were all very worried. I can't imagine what a relief and thrill it must be to get the news that you passed.

I'm not sure anyone saw it, but a Filco appliance store collapsed after the storm the other day. DH said the story made it on the Today show. The store is a part of a long building that has a Marshalls at the end. I was just shopping in that Marshalls last Monday. I hope it didn't suffer any damage.

Cathy, there are times I am still tested, and he lives 2 hours away!!

He called not to thank me for birthing him but to tell me he wasn't in the hospital or jail.

Deb, Amanda is in a different time zone than we are, so she still has time to get her nooner.  Let's hope her DH shows.  I need to live vicariously through somebody!

Hi Jackie!  Is the new guy cute?

sometimes that's a really good call!

I keep meaning to say it - Maxs Mom - your new siggie featuring Maxine is so sweet!  Getting to look at her every day, even though she's not with you anymore, is a nice feeling.  Still sending hugs...

    Don't I know it!

He has already been warned that if he ends up in jail due to his alcohol induced impulses, he'd best not waste that one phone call on me.

Thanks for all the siggie comments. I love it.

I have a LOT of pics of Max loaded on my computer at home, at work and on my phone. I look at them a lot. She really did leave a hole in my heart. Her memories will get me through. I do know she is bouncing at the bridge waiting for me with her predecessors.

    Re: Mindless chat TGIF

    That sig is really nice!

I am recovering from last night. Abbie plucked a hand warmer out of my jacket pocket and ate it. The main ingred is iron. I made her puke and figured we were ok until she woke me up puking. So I spent last night and today at msu e-vet with a vet that was totally worthless. They actually refunded some of my money because she screwed up some blood work. I was in there for iron poisoning and she wanted to do a $200 xray for an obstruction. I said, do you have any reason to believe she has an obstruction "well just to be on the safe side". I said well you didn't feel anything, she's not lethargic or in any pain...please. I don't have $200 extra to just throw around. When I said no she made me feel like a bad pet owner. She also wanted to call poison control and have me pay for it. I said, this is why I'm here. I could have called them myself! She did not know what activated carbon was and it was not in her "book" (rolls eyes). Then when I called to get blood results they said "you'll have to wait until the doc gets back in at 6pm tonight. I was stunned and said "my dog was in for poisoning she could be dead by then!" Seriously! And this is one of the best vet schools!

Anyway it was a huge ordeal and abbies iron levels are very high so I am keeping an eye on her. However I saw a diff vet today and she said not to worry too much considering abbies attitude (which is butt wagging and kiss giving).

I swear this dog will eat anything!
