This look familiar?
Posted to: News & Entertainment
So I'm getting ready for work and I look in my room and they all just took over. Do your dogs take over the bed too? In the back is Hurley, the Rottie who looks possessed is Grux and Zelda is the furry one, the newest edition to the pack.

Posted to: Health & Grooming
We are thinking of adopting a dog! We found a really sweet female yellow lab but she is 9 years old. Do you think that's too old to adopt? About how long do labs live? I don't want to bring her home, fall in love with her, then have to put her down in 2 years or she would pass. Would you...

Happy Hump Day chat

Beautiful day here after horrid heat yesterday followed by some nasty storms. We had flash flood warnings and our street flooded pretty good. But, it's like the storm washed things clean, and it sure helped with the allergens because I didn't wake up with gunky eyes this morning. My step son...

Dog attacks herself
Posted to: Health & Grooming
I just recently adopted a 16 mo. sheltie/corgi mix. Shes somewhat timid especially around men but really a sweet girl. There was no mention in her file about any behavioral issues. She has these moments - especially when asleep where she will just suddenly awake as if startled and begin attacking herself...

I'll be amazed if anyone sees this. GingerD had acupuncture the other night. It was a little stressful since the spot on her spine she is sensitive to is still literally a sore spot. The vet did offer a possibility about her excessive thirst and hunger - Cushings. Not what I wanted to hear, but...

Epitheliotropic lymphoma aka: mycosis fungoides
Posted to: Health & Grooming
My rescued Westie, real age unknown but thought to be 11 or 12, was just diagnosed with this disease. We have been fighting ongoing allergies and demodex mites then the dermatologist noticed the loss of pigmentation around his eyes and mouth. They did biopsys and they were all positive. One route to...

RonnieO is home!
Posted to: News & Entertainment
RonnieO is home and is settling in. Mozey and he are getting along well--they are very willing to play, romp around together, and then take their naps. I think Mozey is glad to have a brother again! Here's a phone picture of RonnieO in the car on the ferry. (Better pictures to come, after he has...

Chatting on Wednesday, 5/28/14

Thought I'd get things started, even though I don't have anything interesting to report this morning. Another night of waking at 3am or so and not falling back to sleep. Ugh. It's weird how many different kinds of thoughts come to your mind in that situation (speaking for myself, anyway...
