Could a Stranger Walk Your Dog?
Posted to:
News & Entertainment
My dog is 4 yrs old and I have walked him on a leash at least once (usually x2) a day. That's a minimum of 1,500 opportunities I've had to train my dog to walk properly! So I ask myself, 'How sucessful have I been? Is my dog trained well enough that I could send him off with a total stranger...

Hi I have an 11 year old Maltese. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that the drool on his sheet had blood in it. I looked in his mouth and saw some blood on his gums, like he had teeth problems. At the same time, he was getting little red blotches on his stomach, that would disappear, only to reappear...

Floyd???

Would you have taken Floyd, let him be put to sleep or what? Floyd bit the animal control officer in 2003. I'm pretty sure it was fear based. But he's a Malinois. He was then caged without respite for six months. Floyd's foster mom loved him. He didn't love her. Too many dogs. He...

My in-laws' 8 yr old Tzu Mix, which now resides in my pack, has never been taught to "sit" (or anything else, but is generally well-behaved). I use NILIF for ALL dogs in my household (there are 4 others). I am planning to take this dog (Farley) aside this weekend and attempt to Clicker...

help on "heel" training
Posted to:
Nutrition & Exercise
Do you have to say "heel" for this training or not say anything at all? And if you do, when is the exact time to say it? I've got quite confused reading articles from different places with no definite answer. 2nd question is heeling command better taught after loose leash training or...

We recently brought a miniature long haired dachshund into our home. His name is Kaos, pronounced like chaos, and he is a great addition to the house. There are many questions needing answers and I will be posting them in the right sections soon. Without further ado, here is Kaos.

My little dog digs and digs at a corner of the couch, and when shes on the bed sometimes she will dig at part of the bed or at a pillow, like shes really trying to get to something. Does she smell something on the pillow? What is she trying to do?

Training collar?

Hi folks, How soon is a puppy ready for a training collar? Our Samoyed pup is nearly 12 weeks now and we are thinking about whether it's time to start more formal training for her. She does great on sit and down commands now, but has a heck of a time pulling on a leash when we go for short walks...

Cadence is still doing well. She has to have an X-ray of her tummy today because yesterday when she was being fed, she started acting a little funny and turned a little pale. They think it is just because they increased her feedings from 3ccs to 5ccs, but they want to be sure nothing is wrong. In a...
