On the downside...someone please tell me I am not the only one who starts researching something on the net and doesn't know when to stop.

I do this so often its not even funny.  Though every once in a while my mind goes blank and I can't think of what to research.  I just have this craving for knowledge and I end up doing odd image searches.  What are you researching Kate?

Oh, I do that too. I have to watch myself though, I've researched things so much that all the info will just get jumbled in my head and I couldn't tell you what I'd learned over the previous hours.

Italian words, names and naming conventions.

LOL, yes Kate!  That reminds me of the other day, I wanted to know how old someone I'm acquainted with is, so I Googled the name.  Not only did I find the age, but tons of info about past employment, his salary for the past few years running, tax information, etc.  It was scary!  And of course I have two GSDs and am not planning on getting another one but I still spend time every evening checking out breeders and studying the pedigree database.

Ah, the joys of living in the boonies.  For the past three years, we've had NO trick or treaters, and this year, I was concerned because we are sort of more in town.  The idea of dealing with a bunch of kids in the "box" with the six dogs wasn't appealing.  But, none showed, so that was good.

Once upon a time, I did enjoy the kids at Halloween, but then they started getting older and older and much more demanding.  It isn't just the cute little ones anymore, too many teens and types that I'm afraid to tell NO.  Luckily, 6-8 is the rule here as well, and we didn't get any here anyway.

We've had some beautiful weather the past few days...warm, sun shining (as opposed to the two weeks worth of rain) and just wonderful weather.  Today is gloomy again.  Sigh.  Will still take the dogs to the state park for a good romp, but would be more fun for me if the weather were warmer.  Being cold is not my favorite thing.

Some days, DH is an idiot.  He's my idiot, & I love him, but he's still an idiot.

We are spending the weekend at a friend's condo on the lake.  I was planning/hoping for a nice, romantic getaway, but instead, he assumed that the weekend was to be used as a "catch up with friends" weekend.  He made plans to go fishing with some friends yesterday, & then go to haunted houses last night.

Bev came along, because I don't feel right leaving him with anyone else.  He needs to be walked almost hourly right now, so it wasn't like joining DH for any of his activities was really an option.  A friend, Bev, & I ended up going to a fall festival.  It was ok, & I did but 5 quilts at a very good price.  The dogs will love having heavier blankets to curl up under, this winter.

I am assuming that DH has realized that I'm not happy about the way that our weekend went, because I got breakfast in bed this morning, & he ran to Starbucks to get me coffee.  He also took Bev out for a walk this morning.  He obviously feels bad that I didn't get to go with him.  I think that I may like this...

Friday night wasn't bad. We didn't buy candy since no one in the house really likes the idea of Halloween anymore. 2 kids showed up at the door and when my roommate told them we had no candy, they SWORE at him!!  These kids couldn't be more then 10 either! I just came up behind them and told them that not every house was required to hand out candy and swearing at us will get you no where.  When the fire works started, Maze just curled up at my feet and went to sleep. Big Smile

Yesterday I took Maze to the agility field and we worked on the A-Frame and Tire, which was fun. She met her first horse yesterday and tried to take off my head! Lol. She jumped from the top of the Frame and just missed my head because I ducked.  I also found out that my non toy driven dog has found a toy that she'll work for! It's a green rubberish toothbrush she found at the field so my trainer let me take it home so I can sterlize it and it'll become her reward in the agility field.

Today is the first day of OB classes so I'm hoping the weather holds out. It's kinda sunny now and I don't mind if it clouds over as long as it doesn't rain!

Tomorrow is my first day at my new job and I'm a wee bit nervous.. Not sure why but I am.. *sigh*

Friday night was awesome here!! Of course, it was our first Halloween... we enjoy it so much!

Thor was supercool about the costumes and the kids knocking out ofthe door, we have some candy left out, but we had lots of people coming along, especially a little kid dressed as a scarecrow, I could hear DH say "Awwww" LOL

Yesterday was cleaning day and today is lazy day, I'm going with my friend to IKEA and then back to DH, who has to work on weekends.

    • Gold Top Dog

I think it's perfectly normal to feel nervous!  If you weren't nervous I would be concerned that you didn't care about the job, which I know isn't true.

It's a beautiful weekend here yet DH is determined to sit in the basement watching football and playing World of Warcraft.  I'm not feeling well so I'm curled up on the couch and feeling guilty that we are wasting a perfect Sunday.

    • Gold Top Dog

Sundays are meant to be lazy!! At least in my house they are.. Lol.

There was a lot riding on my getting this job so I guess that me being nervous means that everything I'm planning is falling into place. Smile.. I hope.. Lol

That is such a good idea. I just realized that I've never much thought about what one has to do with a single, short coated dog. Shadow is our space heater.

    • Gold Top Dog

Talk about space heaters.......DS finally fixed the starter thingee on our furnace and now we are waiting for the propane guy to fill my friends tank and ours at the same time. So, we are using a space heater in the main part of the RV. The cats have heated rice bags at night, and we have the dogs. With two people and at least three dogs in the bedroom, if not the bed, I have yet to have a night that I haven't had to take stuff off in the night. Socks go first, and then anything and everything else! And it's been down in the teens already here!

A three dog night, which BTW is where the band got its name.

Speaking of which, here's my favorite song from them. We have seen them a number of times in concert.

ME TOO!  Research crazy person.  My friends all come to me when they need somethign researched and they ask, how do you find out this stuff?Big Smile

Oh, last night was bad!  I had a dog on each side of my legs, so shedding clothes wasn't easy, and they sure weren't about to let me shed covers either.  I absolutely HATE sweating, and even more so when I'm trying to sleep.  It was in the 40's here last night, so not as cold as it's been, but gosh darn, it sure was hot in that bedroom.  I guess that answers my question about surviving the winter in this thing.  Don't think thats going to be a problem!
