He looks like a wolf
You're not the first to say that. About half the strangers that have met him in person ask if he is part wolf, which is a fair question, given that he does resemble a timberwolf.
You're probably new here so the others will have to bear with me. Shadow is a mix of Siberian Husky and Lab, with a predominance toward Siberian Husky, especially in temperment, metabolism (which is special, indeed), and some structure or physiology. The pic was during the beginning of spring blow and most of his red was already gone. But in winter, he has four colors. Black, brown, red, and white, though white is mostly undercoat and some lightening around the face, giving him the Siberian mask. Iridescent amber eyes also give a wolfish look. And small pointed ears that can stand up or lay down, one at a time or both. A big, bushy tail carried over his back. Bone density like a Sibe, which is less than a Lab (that part I learned from my vet.) And he can howl, too.
He is an expert hunter. The weekend before this last, he did get a bird that was in a spot of Monkey Grass. That was too big to get down in a few gulps and I got him to drop that.
I don't specifically feed him raw but there are times when he is in the backyard alone and I'm sure he's eaten a few mice out there. Actually, they are cotton rats, that being the common field rodent where I live. So, I don't worry about until it becomes something to worry about. These small rats and mice have soft, flexible bones and he's probably been in more danger from chewing on twigs. Heck, I used to given squeaky footballs and he would shred those and then I started finding bits of yellow football in his piles so we changed to an indestructible kong.
