    Mindless Chatter Memorial Day

I hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend. I am making the best of it considering the bad luck that has befallen me. (see other thread for pity party). I just called a friend to have her go break in to my house to feed my cat. She says "Oh this will be my 2nd break in for today. Just call me mcgeyver" This must be the weekend for unexpected happenings.

Right now I am sitting at my sister's with 4 sleeping dogs and a cat. It's so nice and quiet. The dogs wore themselves out playing.

My mom called me at 11pm and here I was thinking that someone was dying or something and she screams "JULIE!!! NEIKO IS ON TV!!!" haha.  How cool is that? :) We did a disc dog competition yesterday and the local news channel used Neiko making a big catch as their clip for the story covering the dog events. I'm trying to see if they put the news clip on their website but so far no luck. So there you go, Neiko has his 1.5 seconds of fame. :)

    Have a great day all!

     Congrats Neiko!

OK don't know about your bad luck so will investigate after posting

So far its been a great weekend, lots of fun and good food.  We have some friends coming over later - Bugsy's girlfriend's family so he is snoring now resting up in order to put on full time insanity for them.  He so so so loves them.

I am really pleased to say that I tried biking with Bugs this morning and he did awesome. By jove we might just be able to do this regularly.  We hadn't tried in a couple of weeks but as soon as I said do you want to bike he started whining and went near the bike.  He seemed to remember the commands we used to.  very pleased as the super hot weather is closing in and being able to get his exercise in prior to 6:30 am is a must, this is so much faster than walking 3-4 miles.

Oh and I caved in and bought him a bed for in our bedroom - he suddenly NEEDS to sleep in there so I might as well have something that matches.  I love Costco!

now off to see what happen to Julie................

It has been a busy but gratefully LONG weekend for me! I took Friday off from work and went out to ride. My horse is STILL being dweeb boy so I left a note asking my trainer to ride him Wed and Thurs this week. I hope she has time. I think he is just being a spoiled rotten brat, but I don't want to pick a battle when I do not have ground support and Jan (my trainer) has been gone the past 3 weeks at a show.

Saturday I had to feed the horses at the barn (and ride) so we were there most of the day with all the fur kids. Teddi is getting pretty good at her barn manners. However she REALLY likes horse "puckies". BLECH! After the day at the barn we took the girls to the river to jump and swim. They had a good time and were tired at the end of the day.

Sunday Belle had an agility fun match, so the "golden" girls went for a walk. We thought about taking Teddi but decided Belle needed some "me" time. She was great (as always). Sunday evening we went to see the new "Raiders" movie. I enjoyed it. Harrison Ford is still a VERY good looking man. It was fun! However we don't "go" to movies much any more. I was SHOCKED how expensive they are, which is why we have not gone. We bought our tickets on line thinking it would be packed when we got there, the tickets were $10 + $1 service fee, per person. Then we bought popcorn, two beverages, and twizlers for $17.75! That is why I have to REALLY want to see a movie, before I see it in a theater.

Today the girls went to a local facility that has a training dock. We jumped our dogs (well Belle and Teddi) and Belle actually left the dock a couple times WOO HOO, then we had some friends meet us there for first time jumping practice. Both dogs did great! Solomon is a Pittie and he was SO obsessive about the water, could have cared less about the throw toy. He has some confidence building to do, but he went off the dock several times. Gus is a yellow lab and he really took to the game. He got jumping better and better.

Now I need to clean my house, do my laundry, pay bills... (I do not want to go back to work tomorrow!)

I did see the other thread and it sounds like it's been a stressful few days for you. I hope they can fix the car early tomorrow and the rest of the week gets better.

The weather here was oddly cool and cloudy all weekend, so I'm glad we didn't have any big plans. In addition, DH hurt his back pretty bad and has been laid up using ice and heat to ease the pain. I've gotten more rest than I planned, but maybe that's a good thing. It's certainly been an inexpensive weekend.
