Just for Fun...your dog's favorite "weird" toys

This is Teddi's favorite toy. He carries it around with him all the time, he has been sleeping with it next to him on his bed, forget all the millions of balls out in the yard I bought him to play fetch with, he wants to play fetch with this thing. What is it? It's the inside of a Kong Wubba that he ripped out of it a few weeks ago. Usually he ends up losing it underneath the couch or somewhere he can't get it back, and it sits there until I clean and find it, then I pull it out and he takes it tail wagging something fierce.

So does your dog have any out of the ordinary things they like, or any weird/goofy toys they like to keep with them?

Harry has recently developed an affinity for my flip flops.  We keep our shoes out in the foyer, and he's never shown any interest in them until a couple of weeks ago.  I've had to resort to putting them on top of his crate or other places he can't reach them.  The first time he grabbed one, I swear he knew he shouldn't have it, because he made me chase him around the dining room table to get it from him.  He's not usually like that with his toys or even his bones and bullies.  I can take anything from him with no fuss, but he absolutely would not let me have that flip flop back!  He must have thought it was the funnest game ever.

ETA - He's also recently decided he'd rather rip his stuffies apart than play with them.  He's started pulling out the squeakers and then tossing the stuffing around the room.  I feel like I can't even leave a stuffy in his crate with him for fear he'll rip it open and swallow the squeaker!  I'm going to have to invest in some hardier toys.  I bought him a dumbbell made out of tennis balls (this one: http://www.i-love-dogs.com/dog-supplies/Dog-12925321-B000F1UPCC-Air_Kong_Large_Squeaker_Dumbbell_Dog_Toy.html), because he loves tennis balls, and the very first day he ripped all the felt off the middle part.

Layla loves dish towels. She goes crazy for them, even though they have every imaginable toy and bone available to dogkind! When I throw it she snatches it up and shakes the daylights out of it and runs so I'll chase her. Abbie just does this wierd thing where she rolls around on top of her bones like she's in ecstacy...maybe she's trying to get her scent all over it or something. Those crazy girls!!!!

Unfortunately - toilet paper rolls.  If there is only a bit of paper left on the roll Morrison grabs the end and runs, TPing the house.  He then goes back and chews the cardboard portion.

Take a moment to picture my tall, leggy GSP running through the house with a ribbon trailing behind him....sigh.

Kaydee likes giant "toilet paper rolls" lol

i got these when i worked a blinds/shades/curtain factory. one of the guys in charge of chopping up the rolls for garbage gave me five of them and she slowly destroyed each of them. wish i could get more of them lol they were great fun for all the dogs! and you can see how she carried them while playing.

Rory likes apples. She dosnt eat them, she steals them off the metal cart in the kitchen adn will roll it around. Then just as she is getting bored with it she'll bite into it and jump like she didnt expect it to taste good inside.....then she's done with it!

Primo likes water bottles which I know isnt that strange but he loves it when there is water in it so he can puncture it and squirt everyone with it....then he buries it. He buries everything and Rory has no clue why he does it. She looks os confused when he buries stuff

Bandit has a thing for my black socks. The white socks are ok to take to the laundry basket, but it's the black ones that he just can't get over. He's put them in the laundry basket & bring them back to me as soon as I leave the laundry room. I can bury them at the bottom of the basket, & he will still manage to locate them & dances around on his back legs like he's just overjoyed with his discovery.

He also enjoys rawhide bones. No, of course he doesn't chew on them like a normal dog. He'll hide the bone. Go find it. Hide it again. Go find it. It's a game that will keep him occupied for as long as the human folk can stand. Hiding places usually include open drawers, potted plants, etc.

Shimmer loves her food dish as a toy. After they're done eating, if I forget to pick them up, she'll gather up both hers and Gaci's, and play with them. Bat them around, clang them together, hold it just right by the lip that she can flip it over her head and back, picking it up and dropping it. ONe day she even carried it to the stairs, dropped it down the stairs, and then looked at ME after the horrid clang of metal on wood and tile as though I did it.

She also has a fascination with highlighters. She never steals them, but if I'm using one or if I have them out beside me, she'll try to gather them up and play with them. Strange gal.

I have a basket in my living room with folded afghans and blankets in it. Trudy grabs one (her favorite is a cream colored woven cotton blanket) shakes it loose, plays tug of war with it, kicks it around and finally, bunches it up underneath her body.  This all takes A LOT of energy.  She is totally satisfied and smiling when she is through.

Buddy's favorite toy is a flattened football.  He had the air out of that ball in about 10 minutes.

Although the toy is not so wierd (a squeaky ball...Jolly ball I think), Heidi enjoys dunking the ball into the water bowl, squeezing it so that it fills up with water, then walks around squirting everybody and everything.  Indifferent

Another of her favorites was one of those fitness body balls for people.  It started losing air when I was using it (no commentaries please) and I didn't have a way to refill it...so it became a dog toy.  I showed her how much fun it is to push it around the yard with her nose.  It actually lasted for about a week, before she finally punctured it.

My dogs like old knotted-up socks, but they're not really the ones who play with weird toys. My cats, however, are looney. Deuce plays with shoes at night. Charlie knocks anything off of the counter and plays with it, and Mike has a strange obsession with q-tips. He digs them from the garbage, bats them around, and vomita a q-tip ball a  few days later. Last night, he yacked up 12! How can you eat q-tips?!

Bella's favorite play thing is a rubber tube.  We got her one of those large blow up Bally exercise balls and this rubber tube sits on the floor and you put the ball in it so it doesn't roll away while you use it to exercise - its sort of a turquose blue bike tire inner tube.  SHE LOVES IT!  She has become quite the contortionist while playing with 1 - 2 - 3 even all 4 legs through it while she pulls and chews.
