    Wednesday at the Groomer. grrrrrr

"Took April for grooming, when I picked her up and got her to the car, I noticed what a terrible job they had done, was all choppy, ears were not cut nor was her tail.  This has happened before, so back in I went and said I'm not satified with this cut at all.  Groomer said, well in the winter we use different blade, I said well it's not the one I want used on her, I want it short, she wears coats and it is not a problem and I also want her ears and tail cut, geez, did he think I didn't notice!  Anyway he took her back and did it right.  One more time and I'm not going back,  I'll give them one more chance, I've been going there for 6 and a half years and you'd think by now they would know how I want it cut and yet I have to tell them everytime.

Longer blades can look very choppy, especially on straight coats. I don't know why anyone would send a dog out looking like that. If nothing else, you can run a longer blade over them backwards and almost totally eliminate the choppy look. Some groomers....

I've been taking my dogs to the same groomer for about 8 years now - and they don't even have to ask me what to do anymore. They'll usually verify that I want "the usual" done, but that's it! I've had one do-over in all these years, and I would imagine strike 3 would do it for me - depending on how far apart the incidents happen. Is it the same person every time Auburn?

Yes, shop is run by a married couple, he does all the grooming.

*nods* I can see why you're upset. I could cut some slack if it was different people, say new groomers, but if it's the same person I'd not have as much leniency. The part that irks me is wondering if he's overly stressed/overbooked, or if he's just careless?

I would not be happy if it was only their second time doing her but after 6 1/2 years?!?  I would guess they have trimmed her in the winter before during that time...couldn't always miss that entire season.  geesh...
She is such a pretty girl :)

Geez, after 6 years they should definitely know how you want her groomed. Gingerbread has been to his groomer exactly 3 times and the last time when I made his appointment the receptionist asked if I wanted "the usual". I said yes and when I picked him up he looked perfect.
