What type of games can be played to challenge/exercise dogs

What kind of games can be played with my German shepherd inside the house to exercise her mentally and physically?

I play basic games like catch and retrieve but don#%92t always get the retrieve part done correct. It#%92s the wintertime and besides her walks she#%92s looking dim inside the house.

So any ideas ill take and try id love to hear anything to spice up my not so much puppies day.[8|]

Have you tried any scent games? Put your pupper in a down stay and let him watch you put a treat in a easy to find spot. Tell him to "find it." When he starts getting close to the treat give him alot of praise. Work your way up to hiding a few more treats around and then doing it when your dog can't see you hiding the treats.

Also another good thing is stringing several behaviors together before you release him to get the treat. Down, stay, (put treat in visible location) Sit, shake, down, stay, release. The dog has to remember a)that there's a treat over there b) where the treat is and c) has to perform the behaviors.
