I think I need more religion. I am seriously considering accepting Buddhism, Islam and Catholocism in my life. (I am jewish.) Would that stop the drama?

Last night, Hawke got a 3rd degree burn when he accidentally touched the rangetop. His left palm is a mess. All 4 kids and I went to the ER, and then DH showed up after work and once he read the note I left at home. Today, Hawke said he was OK with going to school. I have just brought him home. And have frantically called Deacon's daycare provider to see if she can take Hawke today too. I have an appt. I cannot take Hawke with me to. Sigh. Crisis averted but man I am killing for a month of no drama. Boredom. I want boredom!! This is the 3rd month in a row we have gone to the ER. Lord, I hope Alex doesn't make May 4-4.

Oh God! You have had a rough few months, I'm so sorry. They always say things come in threes, so it MUST get better soon[

I'm so sorry to hear that about your son! How scary, I sure hope he is better soon! Man, it does not take long to get those burns from rangetops - I remember one I got as a kid but luckily it was just my index finger!

That said, I couldn't help but comment on your Buddhism - Islam - Christianity statement, I LOL'd!

It's funny but I was just reading through a book of my husband's last night. It's called Shattered Dreams, by Larry Crabb, and it's about how God uses painful experiences to meet us in our brokenness and then through that, renew our relationship with Him and begin the healing process. One of the chapters I read starts out like this (I'm paraphrasing) "Most Christians are often practicing Buddhists. They believe that they must die to their desires in order to have happiness in their lives, and then they wonder why they do not enjoy God very much." I'd highly recommend that book to you Sara, given what you're up against these days. God often uses our circumstances to speak to us, and I think sometimes He lets us stay in our circumstances as long as it takes for us to realize how much we need Him, and only Him.

You've got all boys right? I remember once at a pot luck the moms of all the boys were talking about how MANY times they'd been to the ER with their sons, not IF like the moms of the girls were! LOL, they all said, yea, it's a given! Although Em has been several times, only once was for an injury (possible broken ankle), the rest were croup and possible appy, (thank goodness it wasn't!). Here's hoping your Mother's Day present is a month (or several) without any ER visits!
