I'm so glad she's feeling better.  Mine is doing better, but she's still throwing up a couple times a day.  She's going to the dr. tomorrow for a follow up.

    Poor baby.

Jennife just told me that Angela is taking liquids willingly but she will not eat.  She only hate like one tiny piece of pizza earlier and Jenn tried to feed her again and she only ate like 3 noodles.  Poor baby

Jennifer said that last night, Angela would still be asleep when she threw up. Never heard of that before. Thanks everyone!

Bullymom, this is really worrisome.  You can aspirate if this is the case.  I would be really, really worried if this was going on.  If a patient called and told me this, I would say get to the ED.  I'm glad she is feeling better, but I just wanted to say that throwing up in your sleep can be life threatening.  If this happens again or continues tell your sis to go in right away.  It's not something to mess around with.  I'll keep sending good thoughts, please let us know how she is doing, I'm worried :)

symptoms like this should not exceed the limit of three days, IMHO...... and if my kid was throwing up in her sleep then i would never sleep knowing the possibility of drowning exists. She's still a baby. she cant communicate like a child of say.... four... she just feels crummy. she cant exactly tell you where either or how bad.

Has her mom taken her to see a doctor yet for this? I dont know this kid, and already i am itching to get her to a doctor. She could have eaten something really dangerous. do they have house plants? some of those can be lethal if there is no timely treatment. and what about pesticide? and what is the contents of the vomit? if she dry heaving or is it bile, or actual food?
i'm sorry i just wouldnt take the chance. this sickness seems pretty violent for such a young child. it may be a simple virus and she will gain an immunity to it, thats if she survives. Tomorrow is monday, i hope they take her to see her pediatrician. that is far cheaper than an ER visit i would imagine.
some things can be dealt with at home, but only to a certain point. i'll keep this kid in my prayers. i feel bad for her, especially since my own son went through it recently.

One of my kids used to do this and it was scary. I don't know if all kids are like my son, but he would almost seem to be awake and he would roll onto his side and vomit with his eyes closed, apparently still asleep.  Does she sleep on her back or side? See if she can sleep on her side---maybe with a pillow or two keeping her on her side so she won't inhale her vomit.

You said she had an ear infection last week? Is she still on the meds? Sometimes ear infections and overloaded sinuses go hand in hand as well as strep. Nasty sinuses can drain into a kid's stomach---making them throw up. Gucky flem that makes it through the tummy gives them loose stools/gucky diapers.

My oldest has had ear infections + strep at the same time and each time he has vomited and had loose stools. In fact one time it was the vomiting and a headache that caused me to bring him to the doctor---his ears didn't hurt.

Pedialyte makes a freezer pop that stays good for a very long time. I buy a box in the fall and just freeze a few at a time. Then I have the kids suck on them or eat only a bite at a time and wait a bit. That way they keep getting some liquids, but not a lot at once.

Well,  after Angela managed to get all of the food out of her, then she would just dry-heave.  They have no plants that she could have ate.  She finished her meds a few days ago.  As for her sleeping, she is in a big bed(too big IMO)  I have no idea what position she sleeps in.  I'm going to call Jennifer's hubby and ask how Angela is today.  I'll keep everyone updated

Okay, when I talked to Chris earlier, Angela was doing good.  Not eating but she drank some milk and held it down.  I was so happy to hear that.  Then, Jennifer called me about 6 hours later and Angela was throwing up again.  I told her to get her some soda crackers and he reply was "I can't afford to"  She supposedly made Angela a dr appt. tomorrow.  Then she tells me that Angela hasn't eaten since around lunch time, Saturday.  OMG.  I cannot reason with Jennifer.  I've told her what everyone here has suggested and I don't think she has heard a word of what's been said.  She DID try to give Angela a popsicle and she wouldn't even take it.  Now, she was on antibiotics last week and she finished them on Friday.  She got sick Saturday.  Could it have been caused by the meds?  It was Amoxicillian that she was taken.

Simple answer is no. Amoxicillin can cause dyspepsia and some mild nausea and maybe even a few episodes of vomiting, but it would not cause intractable nausea and vomiting for this long. She NEEDS to be seen by a physician immediately. She is too young to withstand any significant dehydration.

I know.  I want her to go to the Dr. but she is not my child.  Jennifer had better take tha girl to the Dr. tomorrow.

Gosh, I'm sure it must be so frustrating. I know how sisters can be :)

I think if she doesn't it could be considered medical neglect. Some docs don't really push that one, but at the Children's Hospital where I worked, the docs weren't hesitant to call Social Services and parents were charged with medical neglect. I'm praying that this poor little girl gets some help, no one should have to suffer this long with something that the doc's could almost assuredly treat very easily, or at the least alleviate her symptoms.

Well, I hate to say it but my hubby said that if Angela wasn't seen by a Dr. tomorrow, he was going to call DSS himself.  There is just no point in Angela suffering for that long.  Money issues or not, IMO you find a way to get by.  Here is a pic of Angela.  Taken on Easter Sunday

I have to say I support your husband's idea. I know it's tough to think about doing that to your own sister, but you have to keep that cute little sweetheart's health and safety in mind. I'm still praying it works out okay. Please keep us posted!
