Wednesday Chatting

    Wednesday Chatting

Hit the ground running when I got to the office.  I kind of like it.  I had to call a company and order five motors.  These a/c units are "special".  Meaning the manufacturer had the motors made special just for these units which makes it impossible to source them anywhere else.  This company is most aggravating to deal with and I had to keep myself calm and refrain from telling them to shove their motors where the sun don't shine.

Got my blood flowing and the adrenaline pumping.  Look out world. :)

     Yikes! Zip it!

Off to the doc shortly - decided to use this spare hour making appointments and transferring my asthma meds. Freaking nuisance

I think the weather people are using prerecorded clips now - no reason for them to give 'today's' forecast pretending it isn't the same as yesterdays Lightning

Loads and loads of damage in the 'hood from yesterday's storm - I would say it had tornadic activity - that's not a word but they use it on the broadcast daily so I can use it too!

Hit the ground running here, too. Was told that the accounting software is being upgraded tomorrow and don't know how long it will take (the system will be down). Can I get all of June's stuff done today? Yeah, sure...no pressure. Confused

Sheesh, Tina . . . don't you love it when the "people in charge" put unreasonable demands on staff with little concern (probably no clue at all) about the effects they'll have?  System/software maintenance is the worst.  I hope you've got some chocolate handy so you can reward yourself at periodic intervals!

I was on the phone WAY too late last night with a friend I haven't spoken to in years (we email; she lives across country).  She was updating me on our 30th high school reunion of a couple weeks ago, and we did more catching up.  She actually wore out batteries on two cordless phones while we were talking!  I was too wound up to fall asleep -- I was still awake at 2AM.  Not a good thing on a day when I have another training session.  Sleep

Wow Karen - I can't believe your weather and will be saying prayers that Chantel doesn't even come close.

My experience with software upgrades has never been good. I hope it goes smoothly for you Tina.

Crazy busy here again too and in a few more days, both my boss and 2nd in command boss will both be out of the country and unreachable by phone or email for 2 weeks. I hope things stay calm while they're gone since I'll be the one responsible for putting out any fires.

The pool was completely drained when I got home yesterday and wow, did it look huge?! It's bigger than our other pool but I didn't think it was that much bigger or deeper. I think the deep end is 8 feet and our other pool only went to 6 feet. Both are over my head but it just looked scary for some reason. He had a slide on the deep end (that'll be going asap), so maybe he wanted it deep for that reason. I was terrified whenever Shane got near the edge and will be really glad when it's replastered and refilled.

Oh no, don't get rid of the slide! lol  Just kidding, sort of.  I loved pools with slides when I was a kid.  Not that many people we knew had them but a few did and you couldn't keep us off that slide.  I hope the re finishing goes smoothly.

Sending Tina and Cathy superwoman vibes.  Tina, haven't you had yourself cloned yet?

Tracy, good luck staying awake today.  Glad you got to catch up with your friend even though it's left you sleep deprived.

I was working on it until I knocked over my nearly full glass of water on my desk and spent all my spare time cleaning that mess up. It would figure that I had as much paperwork possible in the line of spillage. Embarrassed

At least you didn't spill a cup of coffee or a sticky soda.  I've spilled my water on my desk a few times.  After a few select curse words, I've told myself it was a good way to clean some of the dust bunnies off my desk!

Just got off the training conference call.  The first 30 minutes I thought my eyes would burn out of my head.  Being tired was a factor, but the ridiculously tiny print on the monitor was nearly illegible.  My boss and I finally figured out where the zoom feature is on this new software, and we both sighed with relief once we enlarged things.  I would've gone blind if we had gone another 60 minutes without the zoom.

Between my burning eyes and sore butt, I've decided I need a walking break, so I'm going across the street to the grocery store to find a snack.

I spent last night on the phone too! Way too late talking and ended up with a sore dry throat because of it. That's a lot of chatting! So, I feel your pain.

I finally got thru to my boss today. I have been telling him for a couple of weeks that it is impossible for me to do what he is asking but he wasn't hearing it. So today I said look, I have 2 fires burning right now. If I put one out the other one burns to the ground. I physically can't out both fires out at the same time. I don't know why that helped him see the light but but it did. I now have a back up fire Dept putting out fire #2 for me. Whew. What a load off!

Cathy I think that is too cool to have an 8' deep pool. You can do a lot with that!

Hi everyone...remember me, lol Stick out tongue

It has been crazy here, peeps going on vacation, shorthanded, trying to learn new stuff...old dog new tricks thing ha!

Hope all is well in your world.  Karen keep safe from the storms.  Most of the folks here went south for beach vacations and either got rained out or jelly fished.

We are hot but cant complain, have A/C this summer and it's way better than last couple of summers.

I wish we still got email notifications from dog.com... I miss keeping up but rarely have time to check in lately.

Take care, you are all always on my mind.  Sloppy kisses from the boys to their aunties and their furr friends.

    Hi Ginger!!

Well the doctor said he doesn't think it's tick borne disease, I am just sick lol I would greatly prefer to be asleep.

Happily my BP was 108/58 and my pulse was 64. Happy to see that as I age my BP hasn't changed.

Today's storm was fairly boring :)

I wish the sun would return

Me, too (waving to Ginger)!  I was thinking we hadn't heard from you recently.  Glad all is well -- being busy is good, if the busy-ness is mostly fun things!

I was also thinking we haven't seen Sharon, Glenda, Deb, or Lisa in recent days.  Maybe I missed some posts around the holiday and the weekend with our houseguest.

Julie, when I got off the phone last night, my throat was very dry from talking.  If I were a public speakers and some other type of performer, I think I'd lose my voice often!
