Travelling info/advice?

I'm going to be taking a trip in september to PA and will be camping. It is a weekend trip. I would like to take Zeke, because it's way more fun to camp with him than without, but I would need somewhere to take him during the day, since I will be busy, and dogs are not allowed at the fair I am attending. I was hoping to find a dog daycare, but there doesn't seem to be any nearby. Would Kennels do daycare? Or only boarding? I don't want to just put him in a kennel, or I could just as well do it here and not take him. Where else might I look for somewhere to take him during days? It's not near any large cities; I'm going SW of pittsburgh about an hour.

I'm sure some of you have some good ideas! (nobody happens to live in that area, do they? Smile ) Thanks!

Kennels might do daycare. At least here some do. Some Petsmart stores have the pets hotel which I think does day care. You could also see about a day rate for boarding.

Some kennels do day care. You just have to call and ask.

When you call places, you are going to need to be specific about what time you want to drop him in the morning and what time you want to pick him up.

Thanks, I'll look into these. I couldn't do it yesterday, because it was sunday, but I will be calling around.

Also, I actually am going an hour south EAST of Pittsburgh, not SW.

Post in the Pets section of Craigslist for the proper area, see if anyone knows of a place.

I live in Pittsburgh but I can't quite figure out where you are going to be -- there's a lot of local FB groups I am part of so I can ask around if I had a little more details about where you'd be :) one hour SE still covers a pretty wide area, potentially

I'm going to be at seven springs resort during the day, and probably in Rockwood for the nights, camping, but I have not nailed that down yet. I will be camping in that area, though.

Sorry, I didn't get any notifications and I'm not on the board that much anymore.... seven springs is nice, but way far away from anything. There is a little town or to nearby, you might find a vets office there and maybe they would keep him for the day. I bet its a great area for camping though! Ohiopyle is supposed to be excellent as well. Let me try posting on some local boards, but I bet the best I will get will be much closer to the city.

Thanks for helping! It is really in the boonies, compared to what I am used to. Luckily, I have til september to figure this out. I don't really want to leave him in a kennel for the day, because he would hate it, but there are no dog daycares anywhere close. If I really can't find a place, I suppose I'll just leave him at home, with a family who has watched him days before. I've just never left him overnight, and I'd rather have him with me.
