    TGIF

Busy day ahead - happy its Friday

DH got home and his car is lovely

B saw the fox this morning, fortunately the fox decided B meant business and ran off. Of course I still had to get the Beast to settle down which took a bit but we got there.

We are in the daily storm routine so each day is super humid, very little temp change overnight and WET! They said we could expect another 3-4 inches of rain this weekend, now they upped it to 5+.

The county shelter has put a sign on the door saying "they are full, animals may be euthanized quickly" Awesome. Its kitten and puppy season.

Is my sister on drugs? We are not friendly with our inlaws. We do not see them often, we saw them last maybe a year and a half ago. They are generally rude. We do not like my brother in law. My sister sent a text this morning asking if we could take the 8 year old sister with us to the fair and fireworks. She said they'll send her money. We are taking my niece with us, or we ate supposed to. And they want to leave her overnight. Add to this, they are living in a hotel, and are supposed to be moving back on the 5-6th. I wrote back and asked if she is serious. She said yes. Really, is she really asking this?

Oh thank the powers that be that it is finally Friday!!

Apparently Mother Nature got tired of me sleeping through her fury, so last nite threw in some massive minds and I kept getting hit in the face with the drapes!  OK, I'm impressed Mother Nature, now go the heck away!!  LOL!

Our lovely southern weather pattern is going to hang around for at least another week.  Joy.  So, if an unidentified puddle is found in the Berkshires, that would be me. Sad

Friday is always my busiest day of the week, so I'm off and running.

ohh, the B has a fox?  How did I miss this??

My parents had a mother and three kits living in a den in their neighborhood.  You could see the kits come out and play with eachother, just 25 feet from the street to their very small development in the woods.  They were so cute, and didn't scare off easily.  Unfortunately, momma put her den on the other side of the hobby farmer with free range chickens.  We hope she and babies have survived.
    They looked just like this:

Funny -- the auto correct on this iPad changed "zoomies" to "zombies!"

That would be a notably different pace btwn zombies and zoomies, eh?  I am picturing zombies getting the zoomies now.... lol

    TGIF for sure!

I am working from home today which is nice. Had a wonderful dinner with my oldest BFF last night. It was so fun! We've been friends since we were 2/3 years old and we can still giggle up a storm.

DH and I have a wedding tonight across town. The wedding starts at 6:00 but because it's across town and rush hour time we will have to leave at 4:30 in order to get there on time. My sister is coming to babysit tonight and I have to pick her up. So I basically have to be ready at 2:00 for a 6:00 so I don't have to rush. Which means my hair will be 5 feet wide due to the humidity by the time the wedding actually rolls around.

Karen - that sign just makes my heart hurt. Poor babies.

The a/c's are feeling the heat here.  We're busy, busy.  Fired a guy this morning but we'd already hired his replacement.  I didn't feel even a tiny bit bad about firing this guy.  As one of our other techs said "you can be stupid or you can be lazy but if you're stupid and lazy, you need to go."  Karen, this is not the guy you and I were texting about the other day.  That guy decided to not talk politics to me this morning. :)

The little shelter near me has a sign on the door.  No intakes, shelter is full.  She's not kidding either.  Dogs doubled and tripled and some living in crates.  Cats and kittens in numbers so high I don't bother to count them.  :(

Yes it *is* that time of year.  so sad ...

B -- don't pull Mom's arm  out of the socket -- but I can imagine fox babies must be kept track of!

    (*Callie is STOKED)

I **drove** my car to work today -- first time in nearly TWO months.  David still followed me here to help me get up into the office (some major distance for me still).  This means I am nearly "back to normal".  Oh folks, I want this SO badly.  It felt SO GOOD to get into MY car this morning, crank on MY tunes (as loud as *I* wanted) and get here under my own steam.  Hopefully by next week I can accomplish getting TO and FROM work on my own so I can have my independence back!!  The road back from this particular bout of sciatica has been brutal. It doesn't sound like a lot -- but it's a *lot* of smaller things that have to happen in order to do it (like getting up and down stairs *alone*, walking/standing quite some distance, etc.)

By golly -- Coffees/latte's for everyone!!

I'd like mine with a solid shot of DiSorrono  please.

Trying to get a readerboard replaced and it has been a comedy of errors for the past 2 weeks. I'm hoping we can get it right and more importantly, installed before the snow flies again. Confused

All the decorating talk yesterday had me giggling. I'm in Jackie's court - I don't worry about that stuff and probably would never make a good socialite. I do, however, eat my M&Ms one at a time, in order of color I like the least to the one I like the most. It's a sickness, I know. You should see how seasonal colors wig me out. Stick out tongue

Sad to read about all the full shelters and what that probably means. I can't think about it too much or it'll send me into major gloomy mode.

HartSong is having a fundraiser tonight called HairWars. It's a bunch of salons competing to create the craziest hairstyle and sounds like a lot of fun. Between getting the other house cleaned and doing some organizing here, there was no way I could go. I did offer to donate a floor mirror I have no place for to the silent auction, so someone is going to pick that up this afternoon.

I think I've heard "do you know where _______ is?" a gazillion times already. As much as I tell myself to take my time and put stuff away slowly, I'm more likely to toss a whole box of crap into a cupboard just to get it out of the way :).

Shane is more velcro than ever and sometimes I sit down for a bit just so he'll get some rest. Poor guy is so confused by all this.

Oh man, those over-filled shelters in the south are so heartbreaking. If there are any purebred Dobes, lemme know.

Will do.  Thanks.  There was a Dobe in a shelter here a few weeks ago and with the help of FB networking, she was pulled pretty quickly.

There is a day care not far from our building (one building separates us) and when the kids are outside playing I can hear them when they do that high pitched shrieking young children do when they play.  They sound like a flock of jungle birds or like they're being chased by a clown with a hatchet.  Day care employees deserve medals just for having to listen to this up close every day.  I bet they have monster headaches when they get home.

You and me both! I can't even buy the seasonal colored ones! Anyway, in case anyone needed to know--a regular, individual bag of M&M's will generally be equivalent to the the circumferance of a regular sized dinner paper plate (the cheap kind). They line up very nicely around the edge of the plate Geeked  Organized by color is best, in my opionion Smile

It's a stormy, sticky day and the mosquitoes are worse than I've ever seen them. It makes our after dinner walk all but impossible. Yuck!  The weeds do seem to LOVE the damp, hot weather.

    Not much else from here.

You described it perfectly!  When I hear it now, my nerves go on end.  But, I remember my mother telling us to stop screaming when we were playing outside.  We lived in apartments growing up, and the playground areas were surrounded by the apartment buildings.  With everyone's windows open, I can just imagine how we drove residents crazy.  At the time, we grumbled with resistance when Mom would tell us to quiet down.  Funny how your perspective changes as you get older!!

Cathy, having moved a zillion times, I can sympathize with the "where is the  . . . ?" problem.  You try to label boxes carefully so you'll know where things are, but in the frenzy at the end of packing, you're throwing things in any box where there's space.  So, how could you possibly know that your favorite saute pan is is tucked into a box of shoes somewhere?

Poor Shane -- it's so hard to see them confused yet not be able to explain why their routine is goofed up.  Soon he'll settle into his beautiful new home, knowing all that matters is he's with you!

Yay for driving one's self, Callie!

Paige - zooming zombies is a funny visual, that's for sure!

I had M&M's after dinner last night and chuckled to myself as I arranged them into a pattern of color-coordinated pairs on the placemat before eating them.  DH says only I can complicate a simple thing like eating M&M's -- but I tell him I'm exercising my brain!

Finally, totally clear weather at Mt. Hood's summit today, so helicopters will be used to get crews up to double the search area.  The National Guard is helping with a Black Hawk, and they said they hope to get a Chinook there later today.

I missed this while typing, Kate.  That's hilarious!  I'll have to try it.

Yes, those pastel colored M&M's at Easter time look very weird, I think.  I wouldn't turn them down, mind you -- but it does create some "organizing tension!"

I do the same M&M sorting, at least when I am eating them in a place where I can do it. I also eat fruit snacks in order of least to most preferred, and I will sort trail mix.

This fricken ABC What Would You Do? Show, the situations are getting totally ridiculous. Tonight they'll have people taking money from a fountain. Yes, because adults would do that in plain view of other adults. Come on ABC, the show is done. You no longer have any real scenarios.
