    Rescue transport info needed

We've hit a snag in transporting Kay Kay, the puppy seen in the photos section of the forum. It's my understanding that the rescue group that pulled her can't use two transport groups (Rescue Road Trips and Pets LLC---I'm assuming they use these often) because animals in transport must be spayed/neutered. This puppy is too young (+/- 10 weeks), yet she still needs a way to New England (New York, specifically). I've never arranged transport for a rescue dog, so I don't know a lot about transport groups. Does anyone have connections, information, ideas?? She has been fully-vetted and has a health certificate ready to go.

     Can't help w/ transport question.

I just wanted to inform you:  New York is NOT part of New England!  Never was, never will be!

(You hit a nerve, lol, sorry)

The rescue group itself is in MA so if we can at least get here that far...lol.

I wish I could help or offer some contacts that might be of help.  The only suggestion I have is Pilots and Paws.  They fly rescued pets all over.  http://pilotsnpaws.org/

I must comment that the transport groups involved, with their iron clad rule about a non spayed/neutered animal, should be chastised; especially a pup this young. Rules have their place but to make blanket rules, without common sense being considered, makes me more than a little mad.

Where in NY is she going, and when? I'm going from the Philadelphia area to the Boston Area, but not for a few weeks. If it was not too far out of my way, I could fit a puppy in my car. I have no clue about setting these things up, but I think maybe on the facebook group people might know more.

I just know she's going to western NY. I really have no idea when she's leaving because we don't know how we're getting her there lol. It seems like the contact with the rescue group that pulled her has gotten several names of groups thanks to Facebook. I saw that one of them sent her the necessary paperwork to submit for approval. Hopefully something will come together. I'm hoping someone has to pass near Baton Rouge or New Orleans because I can get her to either of those places within an hour or so.

Marlania -- "western NY" is pretty big -- but coming from where you are someone would eventually have to go North on I-75 (up thru Tenn/KY) all the way up to I-90 (which becomes the NY State Thruway eventually). But I am *from* Western NY so if you can get more specifics I know someone I can email with dog contacts who might help transport if it's anywhere near Jamestown (which is in the very southwestern most corner of NY)

I'm waiting to hear more details, but it looks like the rescue group found someone AL who is going to VT who can take her. I'm not sure what the plan is once she gets there. The rescue group said she should be able to get her from LA to AL easily, so it looks like this pup will be heading out soon. I can't wait to see what she looks like when she grows up.

    * raising eyebrow* --  do these people have any idea that there is approximately 10 hours between Western NY and Vermont?
