When I rule the World - Wednesday Chat (Deb W.)

I survived the dentist.  As I said to Jackie, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be - but it wasn't easy either.  I didn't yak on myself or have a heart attack in the chair, so it's all good.

Can somebody please tell me why the FBI is spending MY tax dollars still looking for Jimmy Hoffa after 38 years ???  Really, does anybody even care anymore ??  All this crap about bringing closure to the Hoffa family is pure BS.  I'm fairly certain that the Hoffa family came to terms with the fact that Jimmy was a mobster and a thug and that that kind of lifestyle can lead to an untimely death.  Whoever put the hit out on him is probably long gone by now too.

When I take over and start ruling the world, this kind of nonsense is going to stop ASAP.

So glad you survived the dentist!  I hate going.

As for Hoffa, I don't even follow it much any longer.  BUT could it be they want to close the murder case, and hope that by finding the body, they find clues to who did it?  Of course after 38 years, can't imagine many clues remain either.

Glad your appointment was manageable Deb. Did you have general anesthesia or just novacaine?

I agree about Jimmy Hoffa. Some old geezer mobster wants his 15 minutes before he croaks, IMO, saying he knows where Hoffa is. Whatever.

My sore throat is subsiding, but I now have a huge amount of congestion.

Got some awesome strawberries with my CSA last night. I also got some edible nasturtiums - something I've never tried. Not bad at all.

    LOL Great news!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tina I love nasturtiums, they can be really peppery depending on the soil they are grown in. I've tried to grow them here but the rabbits seem to eat them all :(

Another night of insane storms - just north of us they had tornado warnings and wind walls or something or other. We were lucky and just were stuck in the 'red' part of the radar map for hours. LOADS of lightning and rain. But today its clear and nice

LOL the Hoffa thing - trying to compete with the Bulger case perhaps

When I rule the world I am going to make it clear that rape can indeed cause a pregnancy. Seems we still have a large percentage of folks that don't get that. I would also put an end to backyard breeding and send people to shelters who want to give up their pets to shelters.Hmm isn't that a bit like Animal Farm. i think i need to read that again

Crazy DH bought a new car. The new car is in Fort Worth, TX. He can't go get it until next week. So each evening I am being regaled with all the wonderful technology present in this new vehicle. Yawn.

ah well I have avoided being productive long enough

Yeah, when they find Hoffa they can get to the really important work of finding Jimmy Buffet's lost shaker of salt.  Edit to add that I stole this from facebook. :)

Deb, when you rule the world, don't forget to make vodka free to all your minions. :)

that old mobster in jail must be having the time of his life watching the fbi dance on the end of his puppet strings.

    Nothing going on here.

    That goes without saying, Jackie.

Tina:  The doc uses mepivacaine on me.  I can't take any of the "caines" that have epinephrine in them.

Time was uber tight last night by the time we got home, so by the time I went TO bed I was only going to get 5 hours -- but of course I had the raving itchies, so I lost another hour tending that even with benedryl. Still having to ride with David (please, Alpha of all Alphas, let the muscle spasms go freaking away???) so I was up and at work 2 hours early. I just want to sleep.

Just got a call from the vet! My vet was on vacation last week, and now has been called for jury duty and got picked and it is a murder trial. *sigh* He's the vet for most of the bulldog owners in Central FL (it's literally his specialty) and he's got a c-section scheduled for this week on a bulldog READY to drop and has to do it LATE tomorrow night. Charlie was scheduled for surgery tomorrow (a lipoma that has "changed" in a not good way).

He's going to do Charlie's surgery tomorrow morning at 7:00 a.m. This man is so amazingly dedicated. I haven't even figured out what time I'm gonna have to get up tomorrow morning in order to BE in Deland at 7. But if the vet can do that for my dog, then I'll do it and shut up and smile and thank him kindly.

I am so sick of the Hoffa stuff. It's all over the news here and honestly I am shocked anyone outside of Michigan would have even known about it. NO ONE CARES anymore.

Funny story about the local mafia though. I live in an area where a lot of them live/lived. Years back the FBI did a huge sting and grabbed a bunch of them all at the same time on a Friday night. The next day the Italian markets were like ghost towns which was very unusual. When I asked my mom, she said that all the wives were home trying to bailing out their husbands and hiding the money. LOL

    Glad you survived Deb!!

Hope everything is fine with Charlie's surgery Callie!

Karen - I work with those techie guys everyday - it's amazing that some people could talk for hours about something I could care so little about.

    LOL!!!

Deb - I'm so glad you survived the dental visit too and I'm sure you're glad it's over.

Tracy - re your question yesterday on the frosting being easier to spread? Yes, it is much easier to spread.

Karen - what kind of car did your DH buy?

Gorgeous morning here. I wish I could just take my coffee and go sit outside for a few hours. We have our Board mtg next week though, so I need to get materials ready to send out. Hopefully that'll go smoother than it usually does.

Don't think Geraldo Rivera is being asked for his 2 cents (altho you can still find his 1978 Playboy article sold online LOL) -- nor about Capone's vault/secret stash. How is it Geraldo is still around? (Huh? icon -- I **miss** my icons having to use danged Chrome) Hey Deb -- Ask for gas at the dentist. For me it's the only way to fly! *giggle-snort* -- I feel it, but I just don't care!

Deb - glad the dentist was ok (or as ok as a visit to the dentist can ever be)

I could care less about Hoffa.  Use that extra man power/money toward finding missing kids, or something.

Sharon -- I hope you saw my PM to you?? (Now that we don't get notifications *I* miss stuff)

Checking it now!  Without notifications, I never notice if I get a PM.

Came in to a dark, empty office this morning, and no messages about where the bosses are.  By now one of them is usually here . . . I guess I'll assume "no news is good news."  It's not unusual for me to be a bit out of the loop when it comes to their schedules.

Deb, glad you survived the dental visit without too much trauma.

Callie, your vet sounds like a gem.  Sending good vibes for Charlie's surgery; I hope the lipoma is nothing more than that.

I echo what everyone else said about the Hoffa thing.  Really, who cares?  He's nothing but some decomposed bones now, and whoever did it is likely dead already, so quit wasting precious time and resources when they could be spent on more important (and recent) cold cases.

Lisa, your story about the "quiet" Italian bakeries reminds me of something my friend told me years ago when she rented an apartment in a city neighborhood known to be pretty popular with mobster-types.  I asked her wasn't it scary to live there, and she said no, it was a great neighborhood because it was spotlessly clean, very quiet, and actually safe because no small-time criminals dared cause trouble on those blocks.  Those kinds of people make sure they have other people making sure everything is in perfect order around them, apparently.  Maybe she was exaggerating, but it made sense to me!
