Deb, sending you some calming vibes (less likely to spill than vodka en route from Oregon!). Hope all goes well with the extractions.
Cathy, we often say Ruby has two speeds: lightning speed and off. She can be zoomie around the yard one minute, then sacked out on the grass the next.
Tina, I bet you'll enjoy the CSA baskets. We can get them here, and though we've not done it, my friend has and she loves them. It's a good way to try veggies you might not try otherwise. And besides all the benefits you mentioned (no weeding - yay!), you're supporting a local grower!
The fish/pond stories remind me of something that happened in our old neighborhood. I was walking by a neighbor's house with Tonka one day, and the woman came rushing down the driveway calling to me. She said, "Tracy, we were robbed today!" I was shocked and said, "Oh no! What happened?" She said, "I was at the kitchen window and saw a Great Blue Heron land in our yard, then he ate ALL our coy fish!" It was all I could do not to laugh. She nearly gave me a heart attack, and it turned out to be a fish "theft!"
