. You have to participate in order to stop the revolving door.
I'd wager they probably know that but they choose to lean on others because it's easier (probably because then they feel like they can blame someone else). Or at least they think it's easier than doing what they don't *want* to do.
Storming *again* outside -- 'm thinking of poor Charlie. He goes in fits and spurts of times he deals with "rain" ok, and then times he does NOT. At this point I think the thing that really trips his fear is storm **fury**. Like a storm doesn't have to have thunder & lightning to be SUPER heavy with just massive pelting rain. We've had more than a few of those lately and he has a tough time with it.
During the late evening when it ramped up pretty hard outside -- there was a pinwheel of dogs on the floor next to me with all 3 swirled together. But at ALL times during the evening somebuddy was with "Our Charlie" at all times -- he was either cuddled with LunaB or Tink (and it wasn't just him seeking them out, interestingly - the girls kinda share responsibility for him somehow)
Then just as David and I were drifting off to sleep Charlie decided he would put his nose under David's neck and then I'd be touching him, too (I sleep with my arms up over my head usually). Nope -- suddenly he decided he'd go down between David and I so he could be next to Tink, too. Ahhh -- THAT was bedder!!! Luna decided it was too hot for so much togetherness so she stayed on the floor.
He is way better about going out in rain tho -- but that's 'cos his little sister waits at the top of the ramp for him so he doesn't have to go "out in the rain" ALONE. Tink is a sweetheart that way.
