    Saturday chat

Headache! I met friends last night and had one drink. That's it! And I have a headache. I'm getting old.

T-ball was cancelled this morning because of rain. So the kids went to gramma's to play and I've got to get some work finished up so I can enjoy the rest of the weekend and not stress about work!

Hahaha, Julie about getting old.  :)  I had two margaritas last night and not much sleep and was out of the house by 6:00 AM.  This old broad still has some get up and go. lol

The humidity was 100 % this morning and the temperature was 79 F.  The doggie event was a success but lots of hot and sweaty people and tired dogs.  I could hardly wait to get back in my vehicle and turn the a/c on full blast.

I met up with a friend of mine who runs a shelter, single handedly, and she is so burned out and overwhelmed.  The bottom line is no shelter can save every dog if irresponsible people don't take care of their pets.  Grrr

Have a nice stress free weekend Jan!

Jackie you can probably run circles around me lol and drink me under the table then get up at 5 am like nothing happened.

Sorry for your friend who is burned out. I could not do a job like that. It has to be impossibly hard.

I feel like I'm melting with today's humidity.

I am dancing and laughing because I AM NOT SUFFERING IN HUMIDITY  Stick out tongue

Really pretty day - I think it was in the mid to low 50's when B and I got up - which was earlier than you Julie and I had two beers hahahaha

Ok enough being a meanie head!

Jackie I have no idea how your friend does it, I have had many in depth conversations with the head of our SPCA and the heartache is so extreme

I took B for a short walk and it was another one of those where we wound up chatting to everyone. Tonight we are all going over to a friend's house  because my friend says her dog misses Bugsy, so since the dogs can't be ridiculous together outside she's going to allow them inside Surprise Few things worry me more than allowing Bugsy inside someone's house. He ALWAYS finds something that no one knew was missing

I decided to take a long paddle on the lake, it was really nice despite the fast boats with water skiers creating loads of waves. There was a class of paddle board beginners that all got knocked off by the wakes. It was hard not to laugh - fortunately they all were laughing. As an added bonus Ducks Unlimited was hosting an event in one of the fields and was offering free lunch. A couple of chili dogs later, burp, I'm home for a bit.

DH is still fighting with the lawn mower, sigh.

Woke up to a nice sunny day. I should have known. Apparently, along with the western plains and the northern forests, we have added the central rain forest to our climate descriptions. We watched the clouds come in, then it got dark. Then, you could see the wall of water moving in. On the good side, I can now vouch for the way Gutter Helmet works. Last moth, we had 23 days with rain. We occasionally get one nice day in a row, and this isn't it. We were going to see an outdoor art festival in N. Mankato today, but if the wind hit them like it hit us, they are done.

Going to see "It's a Grand Night for Singing" tonight at the Mankato University. Really looking forward to it. They have some real talent, as always.

I tried a beer a couple of nights ago, after an 11 hour work day. Finished it about 8PM. Woke up at 10:30 and went to bed. Apparently I relaxed a bit.

    Definitely not! :)

I've cleaned out the back of my truck and washed down the dog crates, ate lunch and now I'm going to go nap.  Feeling every bit of my age right now. lol

Feeling my age plus some too. I went over to the new house and spray painted our wrought iron furniture. We have a dining table with 6 chairs, a bistro table with 2 chairs plus 2 little foot stools. My hands were screaming by the time I was done but man, do they look good?!! We've had the set about 10 yrs and it was starting to look pretty bad but after 4 cans of spray paint, it looks brand new. I also went grocery shopping and bought everything for tomorrow's bbq. In the morning I'll get up and make the pasta salad and bake the cake. Other than that, it's all done. The new place looks so good that it's really hard to come back here. I was beat though and took a cat nap when we got back.

Jackie - I'm glad you had a good time but sorry about the humidity. It's odd to think that your temps were low compared to 108 degrees last Saturday and yet, I'll bet it was more miserable. I just don't tolerate humidity.
