    Thursday chat

I need to get a move on but I just woke up. Groggy head central after all the storms last night. Someone infuse me with coffee please. Have a good day all!

Gah. I must have dropped my bra on the way to putting it in my backpack this morning. Nothing like wearing a sports bra under work/dress clothes. Worst part is the dress shirt has a wide scoop neck so you can totally see the sports bra. Lovely!

Not the kind of person to go bra-less, eh? ;)

I am achy and likely going to take it easy all day today.  Tuesday evening I developed a raging toothache.  Wed morning saw me at the dentist, and Wed afternoon at the endodontist for a root canal, on a tooth with a crown.  When the endo took the first x ray, to make a decision as to where the issue was (I couldn't tell with the pain) he discovered 2 adjoining teeth BOTH have abscesses, no wonder I was in such pain. And of course, both teeth have crowns on them.  He speculates that the reason it was so bad is that the Naproxen I take twice daily for my osteoarthritis masked the pain in the earlier stages.   So he worked on the worst one first.  I don't do well w/ dental issues; needed 4 Novocaine shots for this 20 minute procedure.  (I was there 2 hours, but the actual work is 20 minutes, the rest is prep time, x ray, taking new patient history etc.) Because he hit the infection in the middle of the procedure and I hit the ceiling plus being a tense wreck the whole time I was there,  I am sore and achy today, but pain free for now.  Cancelled all the things I was planning to do today, just going to sleep and rest.  Antibiotics for 10 days, should help with both teeth so I should be good for a time.  Have to arrange for a filling in the crown w/ my dentist.

Oh Sandie - that sounds awful!! I hope the worst is over.

Julie - I'm betting it's not as noticeable to others as it is to you. Maybe you'll start a new fashion trend :).

Up super early so I can get to the office and try to get caught up on stuff. This is not the time of year for 1/2 time work and if it weren't for the move, I'd be working full-time but I can't do both. The next 2 weeks are going to be even worse.

    Has Glenda been around lately?

Sandie:  I feel for you, girl.  I have lots of dental woes too.  Be careful with the antibotics - take lots of probiotics and plenty of yogurt.

Why is that when one of your smoke alarms decides it has a dead battery it goes off (thus setting every other alarm in the house off) at 3 am ??

New trend? Heck, here it is common to see more bra than shirt, esp. with summer fashions. I'd never go bra-less in public or at work, esp. in the summer, when the a/c is frigid. Hello headlights! Embarrassed

My house is 99% done. Only the gutters are left to hang. Woo hoo!!

LOL! Yes, you will not see me going braless. It would not be a good look, with or without the headlights.

Yay for your siding and stuff being done! That happened fairly quickly, although it probably felt like forever to you :)

Julie, I hate feeling like I'm not dressed appropriately.  It's probably true that it's not as noticeable to others as it is to you.

Sandie, I'm sorry you had such a horrible dental experience.  Rest and feel better.  Reminds me I need to reschedule my appointment to have my teeth cleaned.  Dog cuddles and kisses will help a lot. :)

Cathy, yuck to all you're going through with the move and work.

Tina, all I can say is YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! for your new siding being finished except for the gutters.  I bet people will be wrecking their cars in front of your house because they're gawking at the beautiful new siding.  I know how great I felt when we replaced our nasty, falling apart siding.

We had day two of afternoon thunderstorms just as I was leaving work to drive home.  Yesterday's storm had a lot of lightning and it seemed to be striking way too close for comfort.  Poor Gabby was a quivering mess by the time we got home.  We seem to be in this weather pattern and more storms predicted in the late afternoon today.  This is nothing like what's going on in other parts of the country so I feel lucky in that respect.

One of our guys buried his service truck in the mud at a water treatment plant late yesterday.  I doubt he'll ever make that mistake again.  All because he didn't want to walk the fifty feet to the unit from the paved parking lot and parked on the saturated dirt next to the unit.  In his attempts to get himself unstuck, he let the truck go down a steep hill.  I may nominate him for the Darwin award.  I felt really sorry for him by the time it was all over.  He said he expected to get fired over it.  I came to his defense when firing was discussed because I've gotten stuck a few times in the mud or sand and needed help to get out.  I even got stuck driving someone else's 4 wheel drive vehicle because I didn't realize I hadn't put it in 4 wheel drive. Embarrassed

Deb, I've been trying to figure this one out as well.  I'll never forget the time when ours went off (between 2-3am) and I couldn't get the darn battery out to replace it.  By the time the beeping noise finally woke the significant other up I was about to take a hammer to the thing, plus I was swearing and crying (yup, I'm not so reasonable at that hour of night hehe).  Needless to say, it's now HIS job to replace the batteries and I don't go near them.

I'm flipping tired.  I'm already at overtime hours and I worked about 50 hours last week.  I may also have to pick up caregiving shifts because no one is taking them.  If I have to, that means a 12 HOUR OVERNIGHT shift this weekend.  Can we say no thank you.  It's not a shift in which I'll get solid sleep either, because the client frequently wakes up and need assistance.

On that note, off to grovel, beg, plead and possibly guilt trip someone into taking that shift.

Julie & Jackie, I am thrilled beyond words that the siding is done. I'm not sure if it felt like it took forever, or just took me forever to make up my mind to take the plunge to get it done.

I do need to paint my garage door and will eventually need a new front stoop as my concrete one is crumbling. I also should do a little more with the landscaping - remove 2 bushes and a tree that are right in front of the house, literally next to it. Oh, the fun and expenses never end.

Sandie, I meant to mention that I'm sorry to read of your dental woes. I hope you are feeling better soon.

Work started out pretty stressfully this morning. Thank goodness I'm getting my Mother's Day massage tonight after work.Smile

Mine was the full out wail.  It was so funny  . . . . all three of us are running around like the Keystone Kops trying to figure out which alarm has the dead battery so we could replace it.  Once we finally figured it out, and got the stupid alarm to stop wailing, I look around and said "where's the dog" ??  We checked the rooms, and Jamison was sound asleep on the couch in the den, blissfully snoring away.
