    Monday chat

Looks like everyone east of the Mississippi is getting some rain today. It is raining here at least. My day is going to be complicated and messy. Hopefully my car is aired out from the muddy wet dogs over the weekend. I could use another 3 hrs of sleep.

I am actually not exhausted and tired, because we discovered from the pie eating incident, that Callie really likes a bit of food before bedtime. She's been sleeping later ever since, instead of getting up at a horrible hour. Hopefully this lasts, except that I actually do need to get up early Tuesday-Thursday.

My 10 AM meeting was changed to a phone meeting, I still have a meeting later at 12:15 with the counselor from my Junior High, and then I'll go observe the kid there, and from there, I leave and do a bit of driving to someone else.

How come, now that my allergy shots are switched to every 3 weeks, I find it more difficult to figure out when to go? I need to go do it this week some time. If I left now, I would have time to do it before the phone meeting, but it's raining, and all the buses and rush hour traffic are out now. It looks like it's crappy out. I should have time tomorrow or Wednesday, but I have no clue what the schedule is for the kid I need to see and really finish observing this week. It really would have been easier if the counselor had emailed me the schedule ahead of time so I could plan my week.  Or maybe it's just more difficult to figure out this week. I don't know, I'll have to see in 3 weeks.

Oh, and if someone would bother to send me the line up for the flyball tournament in July they want me to show up it, I would so appreciate that. The person who got me to come back asked if I am coming on Sunday to practice. I don't know if I am coming to practice, because there is no point for me to go to practice if Luke is not running with them at the tournament. No need to waste my time there. I decided I am not going if a certain dog will be on the team. I can't take that owner, and I can't justify spending that money if I'm going to be frustrated all weekend. I'd also probably have to book a room 30 minutes or so away. The rooms in Gettysburg are all around $100 a night. I can't afford that, particularly if I were to stay 2 nights. It's 2.5 hours away, which means I probably would stay out both nights. Something 2 hours away the weekend after next, I am driving out Saturday morning and staying only that night. Luke is also not actually racing, so I don't need to show up until the racing actually starts. For the one in July, if racing is at 8, then I need to be there at 7:30, which means I need to leave no later than 5. Then I saw the Wolverine movie comes out that Friday.  I do love Wolverine. I could potentially just as happily go out with my friend to the Wolverine movie and dinner that weekend. Well, it is definitely more fun than if a particular dog is going to be on Luke's team. How freaking hard would it be to send me the damn list?

Oh yea we have rain alright. Bah humbug!! The total on Friday was nearly 6 inches, it rained on Saturday, storms last night, pouring this morning, storms and rain all day today. LightningUmbrella FED UP!

That's all really. I stayed in bed for ages this morning. The drone of the pouring rain was pleasant when I was still in my bed. It was my intent to take B to the lake this morning but once I knew I wasn't going to be doing that I figured I might as well stay in bed.

Jackie the Spurs forgot to show up last night. I was thinking of you and Mr Jackie Sad

You guys all know what a Pollyanna I am.  Always looking on the bright side and trying to spread love and happiness throughout the world Stick out tongue.  So, I really do hate to witch and moan, but sometimes it truly sucks to be me.

I have to have two teeth removed next week so they wanted to put me on a preventative anitbiotics plan to ensure I don't get any infections as I am prone to abcesses and they don't want any germs from my mouth getting into the pockets.  This is the first time I'm having teeth extracted from the oral surgeon and not the regular dentist.  The doctor prescribes penicillian and I'm like penicillian ??  I didn't even think they made that anymore.  He goes on to explain that it's one of the most effective antibiotics for preventing oral infections.

Now you guys know how I react to antibiotics in general which is not good.  But, I don't think I've taken penicillian in over 40+ years when I got my tonsils out.  I start taking them last Tuesday.  By Thursday, I had to leave work because I was so nauseous.  By Thursday night, we commenced with the yakking.  By Friday, it was so bad I actually pulled a muscle in my back and was doubled over.  By Saturday, I'm yakking in a bucket because I can't get up fast enough to make it into the john.  By Sunday, just when I thought the worst was over, well - you guessed it.

However, I've been OK since yesterday afternoon (no more yakking) and I'm able to keep Gaterade down.  So, I'm sitting here at work looking like death warmed over and sipping my Gatorade and praying that I'm on the road to recovery.  I have no idea when the surgeon is going to advise about all of this since his office is closed on Fridays.  I think I'll take my chances on getting an infection rather than go through that again.

So, how was your weekend ???  Sad

They showed up but decided to leave early after the third quarter.  It was a bad game for them but hey, it is a game. :)  OK, a game with highly paid athletes who should have played better.

Deb, OMG.  That sounds absolutely horrible.  What a way to spend your weekend.  :(

Oh Deb -- I'm so sorry!! You and I will have to share the "Queen of Adverse Side Effects" crown. Last summer when they put me on dental penicilliln my HAIR fell out (gobs and gobs -- almost like when someone takes chemo). But nausea is the worst. Absolutely. (Passing Deb some more gatorade)

Police action in downtown Orlando tihs morning - the Interstate was CLOSED right at my exit. David got to add 2 hours to his commute this morning. ugh.

    Pretty tame by comparison.

More work on siding was done Friday, specifically j-channel and soffits were installed. Now it's raining, so I don't expect to see the contractor until it ends, which, considering how the weather has been, may be never.

At the track Saturday, had a jockey fall off a horse and get stepped on. A customer came to my window and asked if the race would be replayed because she wanted to see the accident, and I quote, "I've never seen a guy fall off a horse." It took everything I had to stop myself from saying "are you f-ing kidding me?" and simply tell her that the accident will not be replayed for the public. Duh.

You should have told her that you've got some horse trainer friends who would be happy to let her fall off a race horse and get trampled if she'd be willing to sign a waiver to not sue them.  What an idiot.  Hope the jockey wasn't seriously injured.

The jockey was banged up, went to the hospital for observation, was back riding yesterday, thankfully.

Went home to pick up DS for work since it's raining and had a surprise - the contractors managed to put quite a bit of the siding up on the front and side of the house before the rain started. OMG - it looks awesome!!! Big Smile

Tina that's great!! That is such a mammoth "homeowner expense" -- that's gotta be a huge deep breath you can take now (it's not done so it's not 'over' but hey -- it's GOOD progress!)

     Ugh Deb!!

Holy stupidty batman, Tina, that would've been hard to keep my mouth shut for, what an ass.

    Congrats on the siding!!

Jackie I didn't watch the game, DH hates basketball and we watched a movie. I kept checking the scores.

It stopped raining for a few hours. Now is coming down in sheets again. Up to three inches of rain today alone. I am glad that our home is on high ground because the ground is just not accepting too much more water.

Deb, how  horrible!  You poor thing!  I've had to take various antibiotics over the years for different things, and some created havoc for my digestive tract (especially those that say to take WITHOUT food).  Now if I need them, I tell the doctor that if there's one they can prescribe that's a bit easier on the stomach (or that can be taken with food, so it's not all alone in your belly), then please give me that one!!  I hope you feel better soon -- that's surely not a diet plan anyone wants to be on!!  Ick!

Tina, that person at the track is probably someone who likes to watch the car wrecks over and over again on the coverage of the NASCAR races.  I think a horse track is worse because the rider and the horse are far more exposed than the drivers who are strapped into those high-tech cars that seem to protect them, no matter how awful the crash.  I'm glad the rider (and the horse) were okay.

I'm sorry some of you are having such bad rain.  We're still in perfect weather -- they say no rain for a few more days.  Mid-70's today, but it was so cool this morning (55*) that I put the heat on in the car because my toes were freezing.

Came home from the hosta nursery with only 3 plants yesterday (and one isn't a hosta!).  I took a couple photos of their display garden that I'll post later.  So gorgeous!

Tina, the new siding sounds great. I agree--pictures are needed when it's all done!

I worked in the yard/garden this morning, but it started to sprinkle (about 3 hours early!). Rain is on the way, so I think I got done all that's going to get done today. WIth the all the rain we had, the weeds are growing very nicely, thank you. (I do not like weeding at all.)

Deb--yuck, double yuck, and triple yuck!

I hope to Orlando incident wasn't too bad. The commute sounds awful! They closed the Mass Pike in Boston yesterday for awhile. Seems the lights in one of the tunnels in Boston weren't working.

Bugsy, if it's raining, I don't think you get to go swimming. I know this is not what you planned--poor beast! And, poor Karen! I think your rain is headed our way.

    • Gold Top Dog
(((Deb))) I'm so sorry you had to go through that. I hope the extractions go much smoother.

Tina - I hope your eyes said what your mouth couldn't to that moron. Idiot!!

Such crazy weather here too. 106 on Saturday, 86 for a high yesterday and today has been windy, cool and cloudy. Very bizarre. It did make for nice weather to get some moving done though. We loaded up my SUV and DH loaded up his and the trailer his friend lent us. We still have a ways to go but it finally looks like we're making progress. I wouldn't be surprised if we're mostly moved in by the weekend.

The neighbor who will be renting this house is chomping at the bit to get in. He asked if he could move in earlier than July 1st and has already signed the lease and given us 2 months rent. When I look around, I fully understand why he's so anxious and I get a little sad at the thought of leaving here. When I'm at the other house, I know it was the right decision though.
