    Obsessed with paper!

Sadie is totally obsessed with toilet paper and any other paper she can get her paws on! It's driving me crazy!!

Some are just like that!  You have to learn to enjoy it, and MANAGE it!

Willy moved in here 3 years back at age 7 years.  Within hours - HOURS! - of his arrival, I had moved both bathroom waste baskets to the tops of the toilet tanks, the kitchen trash was in a cupboard, the toilet paper was OFF the rolls and on the toilet tanks, the paper towels were moved from where we'd stored them for 5 years to a closet WITH A KNOB, and the coffee table was completely cleared of newspaper (Oh, so THAT is what the top of that table looks like!)  Now, 3 years later, I still find myself forgetting that WILLY lives here and now and then leaving paper in his reach.  Sigh and *giggle* that's the only way to live with these doggies!

Ava has always been. She is two now. I had to buy covered waste baskets, etc. have to watch paper hankys, napkins, anything paper, she will get and chew it up all over.

Now Tink will chew paper when her tummy is wonky (excess acid I'm thinking). Now she'll get into **anything** at any time -- but she targets paper when she's not feeling quite all the thang!!

Tonka, our previous dog used to go into the bathrooms, touch his tongue to the toilet paper roll so it stuck on the end, then walk back out of the bathroom, dragging the TP with him in a long trail. He'd stop, then eat his way back towards the bathroom if we didn't intervene.  He also LOVED to shred brown paper shopping bags.  We discovered that by accident when one dropped on the floor when we were unpacking groceries, and he tore it in a zillion little pieces.  He didn't eat the pieces, he just made a pile of them.  We called it "nesting."

Ruby doesn't seem to be interested in paper things (so far!).

Chip pulls Q-Tips from the bathroom trash and eats them. It's his obsession. Sometimes he'll eat soap too. lol Tar and Junior will string paper across the house when they dig in the bathroom garbage.

Twister thought used tissues were the best snack ever.  Ick!  Gabby, always eager to copy what Twister did, learned to enjoy the occasional tissue snack.  The first six months I had her all the trash cans were up out of reach.  She'll still steal a tissue or a paper towel from the trash now and then. Neither of them ever got into the toilet paper.

Tracy, the mental picture of Tonka and the toilet paper is hilarious.  :)

I must admit, I did make me laugh the first few times she got the tp. Check out the photos here too. She got on top of our table for the napkins. Yeah, we choose to get the kodak moment rather then scold her!

Thanks for the laugh Tracy. That description of Tonka with the toilet paper sure put a smile on my face, especially the bit about him touching his tongue to it Stick out tongue

Just as Sandie as explained, it is all about enjoying and managing. People have to baby proof houses, well the same thing has to be done for dogs, cats, birds or whatever the case may be.
