Chattin' on a Tuesday

Thanks for confirming the info about valerian's lovely fragrance.  Good God, it about knocks me over just opening the bottle.

Thanks for the info about taking more during the night, Callie . . . I always start with minimal doses with medicines and vitamins and whatnot because I seem to be affected more strongly than the average person.  It may have something to do with being barely 5 feet tall (I probably need a children's dose on some things!).  But once I know how I metabolize something, I feel better about increasing the level.

Cathy, sending you some calming vibes.  Moving is one of life's major stressors, up there with marriage, divorce, job changes, etc.  You may need something more than stinky valerian during this busy time!!  Wink

We're calling what I have contact dermatitis for now, and I'm waiting for some cream right now in the pharmacy. I didn't really get what the person who took in my prescription said about being illegal and Maryland. I'm in NJ, my prescription is from PA. I'm getting here to get it on the way home from work so I can put it on and maybe it will help my face stop stinging.

We're having a really decent "low(er) humidity with really decent temps" spell. I'll take it! Today was Sinbad's acupuncture day and he did pretty well for an old guy! We've changed his pain meds a bit. He had a taco for lunch, so he was a happy boy :-)

The garden is going full tilt--I have a few more things to plant, and I'll try to get those in tomorrow or Thursday. The potatoes and garlic look really good and the tomato plants are growing. I'm trying sweet potatoes--they are finally settling in and are starting to set new leaves.I picked the first 4 beets on Sunday--yumm!

I also get to help deliver a couple quilts to a home for female Vets on Thursday. Every resident gets a homemade bed quilt thats hers to keep when she moves to her own place. They have two new people moving in, so we wanted to make sure the quilts were there for the women when they arrive. That will be a good day!

I've been reading all the news and I know I've forgotten a lot, but I hope everyone who was under the weather feels better (Jenn, I am so glad it's not shingles--those are super painful!) Cathy, I can't believe you're getting ready to move. I wish I lived out west; I would be happy to help. Tracy, the valarian does stink, doesn't it?! I hope you get some good sleep. (I woke up at 1:30 last night--yuck!)  Bugsy and Karen, I am so glad the rehab is going so well!

Hugs for all who need them.

We don't necessarily know what it is, at least that was my impression. I felt like it was a, let's try this, because that seems sort of likely, then if not that, we'll do something else. If it's not cleared up, I'll actually go to the dermatologist. The doctor at my primary I prefer will be out in a week. She said I could see the other guy, who I only go to in desperation, or wait 5 more days for her. I'll choose the unmentioned option 3, see the dermatologist. It's a skin thin, so she's a choice for this one. However, you can't get in quickly. I figured with the suggestions of doctor google, I wanted to go quickly. I also figured that by the time I could get in there, maybe it would be gone, so I wanted someone who would see me today or tomorrow. I imagine if in 7 days, it's still there, it will be there in the few days it will take to get in with the dermatologist. If in a few days I develop blisters where the rash is, then google was correct.
