    Friday at Last!

Well, Lisa & I are both on here but I don't see another started. Phew, now that we all got our phobias off our chests, Friday at the Tiki Bar should be more relaxing?? *smile*

    Good morning Callie! **WAVES**

Nope, hadn't started a thread yet, I was still reading through yesterdays. Had a good birthday yesterday. We didn't do anything exciting and I picked "loaded" pizza for dinner so we ate at home which is good by me. DH woke up with a little fever this AM so I am camping out at home until Riley gets on the bus for school and then I am heading to the more local office this afternoon.

I must say the weather this morning ROCKS!! I wish it could be like this every, single, day. I am finally going to get some flowers today. Between the risk of frost and being out of town I haven't had a chance to plant any. My lilies, rises and mums are coming up but I must get some color into my beds ASAP.

Regarding my co-workers yesterday, I was telling DH (well really whining) about it so that sneak called up one of friends at work and told them to hang a sign on my office as a joke knowing that everyone would then get the hint. It worked. He's the best. I wasn't really upset, but more annoyed.

We have NOTHING planned for this weekend. It is literally the last 100% free weekend until mid-July. I think I might take Riley to see the movie Epic and then have to hunt up this bottle of single malt scotch DH wants for his 40th birthday on Tuesday.

    CIAO!

'morning! The weather is gorgeous, you are right Lisa! And I wish it was like this every day. This must be what it's like to live in Hawaii :)

I'm working from home today too so that's an added bonus. I have a lot of stuff I brought home to review and I will be doing that out on my deck. An umbrella drink would make it more perfect.

I think I almost gave Abbie a heat stroke last night. We went for a bike run around 9pm. As usual she ran full on. I kept checking her and she had her tongue out of course but showed no signs of distress, wanting to stop or slow down so we did about 1.5 miles. Once we got home though she almost went into a panic when I didn't have her pool filled up. She clearly looked around the yard for it (usually I have the pool filled and she bee lines to the pool as soon as we get in the yard) then acted all distressed like she was over heating. It was kind of scary how hard she was breathing and how she was so panic-y. As soon as there was a half inch of water in the pool she laid down in it. Guess I need to not let her set our pace when it's hot. Neiko and Lily paced themselves. Neiko ran the same distance but he wasn't nearly as hot, nor did he go as fast and it was obvious with him when we needed to slow down or quit. Abbie, not so much. She's so quirky.

I'm about to head home from Williamsburg in a bit. Busch Gardens was dead yesterday. We got on all the coasters twice, ate our packed lunch put in the car, and saw a show by 3:30. We went to the Oktoberfest show at 4 for an early dinner, and left there by 4:30. Early in the day, we were the only ones on a ride a few times. That's the way to do it, and when we will be coming back next time. We went on a ghost tour last night. The second story we heard, the actor was so good. Best scream ever. If you go, do not sit in the front row. There are 22 stories total, so you never know what you'll see, but just trust me about staying out of the front. You'll appreciate it if you hear the vampire story.

Aw Lisa I love the story about the sign!

Nothing exciting for my birthday either - some friends & I are going out next week to celebrate. I was a bit irritated with DH because he didn't put any thought to dinner. Its been such a long week I would have preferred to stay home but we went to a local hangout. On the way home we caught up with our favorite neighbors and they said - come on over and bring B so we hung out there for an hour.

    Yea for siding!!!!!!!!!!!

Weather is getting steamier and steamier here, of course that means storms are heading in. I've enjoyed nice warm weather without the threat of storms - from today through Monday we are back to the norm of potential afternoon storms.

Julie Abbie is just higher drive than the other two, not quirky (although may be for the breed). I have always said that B would 'work' until he died - he'd overheat, get frost bite, drown, break body parts, etc but just keep working. They just don't have the ability to moderate their activity.

Alright ONE more long day................. then I will spend my weekend food shopping and cleaning!

Yay for siding !!!  What color did you get ??

For today's Tiki Bar cocktail, I give you:

    The Voodoo Cooler

1 oz dark or spiced rum (your choice)
    1 oz Midori
    2 oz coconut rum
    1/2 oz orange juice
    1/2 oz pineapple juice

Shake everything up in a shaker with ice, and pour into the coolest looking Tiki mug you can find. Garnish with fresh orange and pineapple, a cherry, and an umbrella.

That's for sure! You are right. She doesn't have that self regulating work drive off switch that most dogs have. Her and B are 2 peas in a pod lol

Yay for new siding! I hope the weather holds out. The sun is already pretty much gone behind the clouds here.

Yay for siding !!!  What color did you get ??

It's called Tuscan Clay. The fascia, soffits, and framing around the windows and doors will be a lighter color that I can't remember the name of. My window casings are brown as are my shingles, so was trying to stay in the same palette.

    Sounds nice !!

Tina - those colors sound perfect. I hope the siding project goes well.

Gorgeous morning here too and will be 95 today and 99 tomorrow. I'm so glad my nephew's graduation is at 9 AM tomorrow.

We signed the docs for the house last night but also got some upsetting news in the afternoon. The inspector had found that the built-in double oven didn't work properly. The owner had said he'd get it fixed. Now at the 11th hour, he says the repairman said it would cost about $300 to fix BUT Kitchenaid no longer makes parts for this model. He's offering a $300 credit saying he'd only said he'd fix it and not replace it. The repairman said it'd be $1800 to replace it. Our agent was madder than us and whatever he said to the other agent prompted her to say that the owner has a full price back-up offer on the house. That sent DH into a panic that things would fall apart, so it was a stressful night and we still don't know if it was resolved, but I feel confident it will all work out.

Karen (and everyone else) - I would love to have the help and company for the move. The faster we get it all done, the faster we can enjoy one of Deb's special drinks. :)

Tina, yay for siding!  Stay away rain!

Karen, we've got the heat and humidity thing here too but they aren't calling for any storms except a stray pop up shower here and there.

Julie, I've owned a few dogs who would run themselves to death. I saw too many dogs have heat strokes running in Hunt tests.  I'm glad Abbie was ok.  I think all my current dogs are pretty good about pacing themselves and Gabby will run off and find some shade to lay in if she gets hot.  I don't know what Belle would do if she were chasing something.  I've worked hard on her recall and haven't had her blow me off in a long time.  I probably jinxed things by saying that.

Definitely!  And Deb's VooDoo drink might help ward off the snakes, or any ghosts or demons who might interfere with the airplanes!

Tina, those colors sound really nice.  You'll be happy with it, I bet.  You can't go wrong with colors that are in the neutral families.

Cathy, fingers crossed the oven issue is just a bump in the road and everything closes smoothly.

Jen, sounds like you had a really fun day --- and no waiting in lines for the rides?  What a treat!

Glad you both enjoyed your birthday dinners, Lisa and Karen.  Lisa, my husband loves single malt scotch, too.  He's always on the lookout for some unusual ones to try.  Some are crazy expensive!  I can't even inhale near them -- even the air hurts my esophagus.

Also Glad Abbie cooled off okay.

Ruby's first intro to agility class is this evening.  Luckily, it's not raining and the temp will be about 70.  DH won't be home from work in time to come with me, so I'm bringing my friend in case I need a hand.  Also, the teacher has lined up another shelter volunteer to be our "personal aide."  I'll need all the help I can get.  I'm imagining Ruby getting away from me and zooming around like nutcase, trying to tackle the other dogs to play with them.  We'll see.  We may not make it to class #2 next week!

Seller called our bluff and won. I guess we'll be grilling a lot for awhile ;).

As if my stress level wasn't high enough, I just got this email msg from our broker regarding our refi and % rates - Hi Cathy, I am on hold waiting to lock your rate. I think something bad is happening on Wall Street. I will get back to you ASAP. Jim

OMG!!! Is it too soon to start drinking? LOL!!
