Slide a couple of those pitchers down this way, please :)

Busy day today and then Yea for the weekend!

We are supposed to be DRY. This is very significant news. I am hoping that my plants survive today's 30mph gusts; the soil is so mushy and they are already lying low due to the heavy rains that the wind may be the end of them :(

    That's all I've got.

B has gunky eyes from the beach again. I need to put false eyelashes on him before our next trip

    Enjoy your Friday!

Got up to 35 degrees. Two days ago it was 80. Mother Nature is being a real wench this year.

The pitcher of adult beverage looks good. And Tracy commented yesterday you might run out of drinks for us. That's the funniest thing I've heard all day, and it's only 8:40a.

The beverage looks great!  I'll take a pitcher, please.

It rained overnight--well over an inch and a quarter, with more to come today and cold temps tonight and tomorrow. My sweet potato plants arrived yesterday and I wanted to plant today, but the rain may foil those plans. I need to mow, too. And clean. And do laundry.

Hugs for all who need them!

Darn it Deb -- you are such a good barmaid for all of us -- YOU oughta get tips!!  LOL

anti-nausea med is working THANK HEAVEN!!  I almost feel like I may live at this point!!  I've been so buried in nausea who knew if I was actually 'getting better'??  This is the first day in 3 weeks that I feel even remotely human and it's welcome!!  Not all the way yet, but sheesh I'll take it!!

Karen - suddenly I have this mental image of Bugsy with lashes ... and maybe sunglasses for good measure?? (he may get you for this!! LOL)

David says he's going to take Monday off -- this will be a FIRST in about 13 years if so!!  Whoo hoooo!!!!

Just when I think it is safe to put the winter clothes and blankets away.

I can't tell if I am having hot flashes or getting sick. I have never had a hot flash before though so no idea what they feel like but for the last 2 days every so often I will be burning up.

Deb - that does look yummy!! Makes me wish we were entertaining this weekend.

Callie - I am so glad you're feeling a little better. I've wanted to cry for you a few times lately. My best friend has gone through so much of what you're dealing with, including the problem with side affects, and I know how awful it can be. (((Hugs)))

There was an earthquake not far from here last night. I didn't feel a thing but DH did. Fortunately, there was no major damage.

We got word that we will close on the 5th or sooner, so my stress level jumped a few points. DH says we're not going to kill ourselves to get moved right away though, so that made me feel better. Our neighbor is back to saying he's interested in renting this house, so hopefully we can nail that down this weekend. DH is off for a week, so he's working on some projects to get this house ready, including replacing some fence posts. He's very thankful that our weather is cooperating and not too hot.

Jackie - did you ever get word on those bids?

It feels like you want to rip off all of your clothes and go live in your freezer.

Julie -- honestly I think much of menopause you figure out AFTER you've been going thru it for a while.  *smile* I'm always hot-natured anyway (even in my 20's I'd be the one with her window open and snowflakes blowing in at night).  I live in Florida so my working life is always having to deal with folks who think Florida is "cold" when it hits below 80 (and they drag out sweaters and scarves!! Yes!!)

It tends to be different with different people -- for me it was always simply the understanding that my internal "thermostat" was NEVER set like anyone else's.  The rest of the world was freezing and I'd be sweating.  I know I'm feverish when I can't get warm!!

I have a fan at my desk -- and I still use it.  Technically "through" it for several years -- but I'm not sure what the difference is between "officially over" and "Old Broad"  --- other than I can laugh at both now??

For me, menopause began when I saw the cartoon on someone's desk with the frizzy haired grumpy old lady saying "I have ONE nerve left and YOU are standing on it!!!" and laughed nearly to hysteria because it was like someone was LIVING *my* day!!

Poor Gabby is so nervous right now.  We're having some repairs made to the roof here at work.  The guys are putting in new screws (metal roof) and Gabby's been a bit concerned about all the noise.  I was taking her outside to potty and just as we went into the shop area one of them used the drill right above us and it totally freaked her out.  She bolted back into the office and is hiding underneath my desk. :(  I wish I had asked them to stop for a few minutes while I took her out.  Bad dog mom to not be proactive.

Deb, that looks delicious but I'm not much of a wine drinker.  I'll have a pitcher of bitch slaps, instead. :)

Glad the meds are helping, Callie.

Karen, I hope you get at least a brief break from all the rain.  Weather forecast here is for a chance of storms.  I hope we get some and that they bring us some rain.

Rex has mild hip dysplasia in both hips and moderate osteo arthritis on the left side.  I'm glad I asked them to send the x-rays out for a radiology consult since the vet who showed them to me was pretty clueless.  He's on a new joint supplement and a brief course of Rimadyl.  I'm relieved to know the source of his pain and that it's not severe enough to require surgery.   The Rimadyl has made him frisky as a puppy. :)

ETA:  The bid tabulations were posted but the contract hasn't been awarded.  "Pending review"  This could take weeks or months.  :(  I've quit worrying about it for now.

PS: Julie, I hope you're not having hot flashes.  I had few problems with menopause other than the hot flashes.  Boy, were those annoying.

Poor Gabby -- Charlie says "How RUDE!  Jest plaster yerself 2 Mom's legs!! It helps!"

This came in my email this morning -- and after Karen's comment about Bugsey needing eyelashes ....

YES it **IS** for sale!! -- only $29.95 (sorry - I could NOT help but post that -- it's a link to Hammacher Schlemmer LOL)

EDITED -- hey, it's more of a "deal" than that !!! The shirt is now on sale for $19.99 -- all that and it's marked down!!

I can hear my husband now .... "But .. it lacks decorum!!!"  -- oops with italic and bold I kind of destroyed the "British understatement"

    • Gold Top Dog

Okay, the Boxer in his "beach togs" is just too silly!

Cathy, you're so lucky to be able to take your time moving in rather than having to pack up your entire house and get it all transported on one big moving day.  That makes things much less stressful, and you can have time to go through everything in your existing house, sorting what you want to keep, what you can purge, etc.

Callie, I'm glad the nausea has subsided.  I think nausea is the worst thing ever.  Headaches, backaches, sore throats, sinus pain can all be horribly painful.  But I truly HATE feeling sick to my stomach, especially if I'm also feeling dizzy or light-headed.  Yay for anti-nausea drugs!

Julie, I hope you're not getting sick (not that I wish menopause symptoms on you either).  When I have a fever, I feel chilled from head to toe.  I only feel hot or sweaty when the fever breaks.  As for hot flashes, I never had one during the day, but I've had to throw all the covers off me at night because I'm sweating like crazy -- to the point where my nightshirt is actually damp.  Then of course I'm freezing when my temperature normalizes and I'm lying there in a damp T-shirt and sheets!  Tongue Tied

and it's another place where we drive the husband nuts *grin* -- I always keep an assortment of blankets by my side of the bed so I can 'adjust' during the night -- but then, that's kinda "normal" for me LOL

We're getting some thunderstorms with the much needed rain we've been hoping for.  Big Smile  Nothing too dramatic or scary so I'm enjoying the sound of the rain on the roof.

DH is off work today and Monday.  He called to tell me that it was raining and the TV was out and he turned off the computers.  I told him to clean the floors if he gets bored.  He said he'll read his book. lol

    • Gold Top Dog

wow -- this is a luxury for me to check the board a few times today.

Jackie -- color DH "normal" -- but you know it never hurts to try! Wink
